Rebels Season 4

By mcworrell, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Four episodes in and off to a good start. Really like the 3rd and 4th episodes, first two were ok. I was never real big into the mandalorians.

Thought they did a real nice job portraying Saw in the last episode. I’m excited to see where it goes.

Well, as it is, the Mandalorian arc may well be done and dusted at this point... There doesn't need to be specific mentions and referrals to them anymore.

And I liked the Saw portrayal.

I mean, there were always some "overthe tops", but I'm okay with it. And my Kiddo loves it.

The first episode included the thing I never knew I needed quite so badly as I did in my life...

Mandalorian Jet pack vs Imperial hover transport and speeder bike chase/heist scene.

I was quite sad to see them leave Mandalore, but I feel like they did well with the darksaber arc. I'm on the opposite side though and am a huge Mando fan. I didn't think they'd ever get them so involved again.

The only thing I didn't quite like about that was that the jetpacks seemed to carry an almost infinite amount of fuel, and were used for the most menial of things (like in the Saw episodes, Sabine used hers to waft out of the box, rather than climb). I mean, they swooped and dove in the air like they were on mini-planes or speeders, and flew off dozens if not hundreds of meters on just the jetpacks. It was odd.

The rebels jet packs are crazy powerfyl, yeah. What got me was how they let Bo Katan outmaneuver a TIE Fighter at atmospheric pursuit speeds. I was rolling my eyes a bit, but the overall spectacle was worth it.

Maybe they're mostly repulsorlift, for the bouyancy - with the jet providing maneuverability. Thus, not much reaction mass needed to get up into the air.

Perhaps a mix of repulsorlift and thruster fire.

Repulsor lift to get them into the air, and thruster fire for increased speed/agility.

Kinda like how starships are supposed to work, except that a starship's ion drive is supposed to be mildly radioactive, and thus illegal to use in atmosphere....so a starship is supposed to use repulsors when in atmo. (Of course, Rogue One shows us that the Imperials seem to have no compunctions about using ion drives in atmo.) :)

Was anyone else grossly over excited about Flight of the Defender (ep6)? I'm always pumped for dogfights

To be fair, 'mildly radioactive' seems a minor concern when you're about to nuke the place from orbit.

Like an Alcohol Swab before a lethal injection....

DiabloAzul, Drasnighta....touche', and well told! :)

Sorry to necro the thread, but the latest episode confirmed, if I am not mistaken, that the Chimera has its design on top, too. So the FFG model didn't change that. Now we just have to see if the bottom of the model is also decaled.

Didn’t this last episode seem to jump straight to the rebels having Xwings? No leadup at all.

And I have 0 problems with that.

Clearly, another cell (neither Phoenix or Massassi) were bogarting them.

But I’ve never been a fan of their “ultimate fighter” sales pitch.

The Rebels Recon just posted echoes my thought on it, it’s cool, but it didn’t need a big led up, where the Characters would be involved inevitably in a big way.

I'm glad you asked this. I thought maybe I had missed an episode somehow.

"The ultimate all-rounder" seemed to be the pitch in Rogue One Visual Guide. There are ships better at individual things - but it's the most balanced ship.

Its not that, I just seem to remember an interview or a story about this final season and that there was going to be a lead up to the xwing, as we have only seen the Y wing and A wing which were not fairing as well in the limited fights. There has been more leadup and discussion of the Tie Defender. I assume the factory will be destroyed in an upcoming episode to explain why there were no defenders at the Battle of Yavin.

Also, what ever happen to the B-Wing? After that one episode where it rekted an Arq it has been non-existent.

Quarrie is working in a shipyards somewhere getting his design to actually work for production.

A one-shot hand crafted then broken prototype is mostly worthless

I thought last night's episode was one of the best so far. My favorite part was getting to see Thrawn go all Ruthless Strategists on Hera.

What I didn't like was the Domino Affect that resulted (semi-cryptic to avoid spoilers).

Yeah I wasn't too happy with that either. Avoiding spoilers is hard.

Yep. Totally stifles discussion. I haven't figured out how to post the drop down quote.

encase it with [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] without the spaces.

Thanks!

Seems like HTML.

Edit: Great, it works! Thanks again. :D
