Thweek your experiences - How good is he?

So why not take FCS, and accept you sacrificed agility for, you know, mods?

Normally I would say yes. But with a curve B-Roll, you don't really need Adv. Sensor in my opinion.

Or you're running Manaroo with him.

I usually run him with Glitterstim but points..

And to answer both of your questions, Adv. Sensor in conjunction with the Starviper dial / action bar is perfect for dodging bombs, arcs, or getting sweet unanswered shots.

That's why I take Adv. Sensors.

Edit: And with a bid you get to take your pre move action knowing the combat phase board state. No bumps, no traps, no surprises - other than the ones you're creating.

But you're also saying that your experiences with this build have been lackluster.

My personal experience has been that he does better with FCS. There are more abilities out there that benefit from sustained target locks than a single pre-reveal action.

Ok that's great...then you roll 2 eyeball and 1 miss :(...

Look at my first post in this thread. S/he gets a resounding "meh" from me - especially in light of the Jump Nerf. And trust me. I've played a lot of games with thweek.

That being said, given the meta shake up, a skilled imp ace player could **** someone's day up with a bid.

I just add auto thrusters and call it day.

I use him more as an equalizer and distribution. I dont put Virago in him becouse Guri needs it ;)

Gotta admit, I really wish the new title also added the System slot to the chassis.

That way all of them could have a handy upgrade slot on an otherwise painfully bare chassis... and Virago would, yes, be adding a second System slot for a sweet unique selling point. Glories abound: AdvS with Collision Detector? FCS and Jammers at the same time?

I'm usually firmly against 'fixes via adding more points to a ship', but in this case it would let the thing be a true technological terror. ;)

I've just finished playing Thweek in a 60 player Nationals side event, and I can say he's truly amazing. I ran him with Autothrusters and FCS (and accompanying titles). not only has he nearly solo'd Poe (Intensity, R2-D2) and done major damage to anything else.

I ended up 3-1, I believe. Thweek's frame alone is outstanding, but when you can match any other pilot in the game for PS his 29 points suddenly become fantastic.

I can't count...

He copied mi Dark Curse hability and was really anoying

I find Thweek very entertaining. You don't know what to expect each game. Different kind of fun every time opponent reveals his squad.

I don't think it will be meta defining ship, but it finds it's place at least in tier2 lists with some great successes in hands of skilled or lucky (or both ;)) player.

One of the best designs of FFG lately.

At our local last night there were a lot of him around. Saw him copy Soontirs PS, and copy Poe and Talonbane’s abilities. Much hilarity abounded.

How does everyone have Guns for Hire already? I pre-ordered with CSI back in July or August and...nothing. Do the FLGS get expansions ahead of online stores? Any idea when CSI will get them?

I want me some Thweek...

So far I’ve played a lot of Thweek.

Thweek marks a move away for Imperial for me after SC season finished.

his ability is something I’ve grown to love. I take him with ships that can drop down rig cargo which make use of the Star Viper dial.

Now with his ability you normal take PS most of time (PS War is on after all). But there are some pilots (out of the ones I’ve faced) out there, that demand to be cloned.

1. Omega Leader (you see her you take that ability faster than you can set up)

2. Dash (OMG I can’t describe how fun Tweek is here. The low PS helps make him the second best blocker in game)

3.Ryad/Vessery (take Ryad if you can, if you have advance sensors over FS clone Vessery)

4. Coran Horn (who doesn’t love to shoot twice and bendy b-roll out of way)

Stores get them and sell them on street date. most online stores ship on street date.

I'll only take PS if I've won the initiative bid, usually. Otherwise he only gets a simultaneous fire shot when he dies, which isn't very impressive. I'd add a few more to that list:

Dengar - he's like Corran Horn but better in every way...
Biggs, of course. Although this will probably change in a week or so.
Carnor Jax for maximum disruption from your blocker.
Fenn Rau, because I play Thweek up close and personal, and I want him to do his thing.
Jake Farrel, for amazing action economy (focus, Boost/Barrel roll, FCS).
Miranda Doni, for shield regen on an AGI 3 ship.
Omega ace, for 4 crits a turn.
Quickdraw, in combination with Pulsed Ray Shield and Ion Dischargers, for many, many shots.
Rey, for epic defensive mods on an AGI 3 ship.

There might be a few other niche cases, depending on the rest of the list.

I'll deffo look out for the above; i've current;y go a really really big bid (5pts) as i can't think of what to change in my list.

With ADV is meh. With FCS it becomes better.

Official release date was last Thursday.

Who/what do you pair with Thweek?

I am looking at Thweek, Guri and Assaij myself and have an alternative in Thweek, Talonbane, Sunny Bounder and a Jakku gunrunner.

But would love to hear more suggestions. :)

I ran him with Asajj and Viktor Hel to great success.

I'm thinking of trying Thweek, Fenn and Talonbane in the future.

I've got Thweek, Assajj and Sunny Bounder. Works tbh, sunny is a solid blocker,

This is my current build-out;

StarViper Mk.II (-3), Autothrusters (2), •Virago (1), Fire Control System (2), Glitterstim (2)

•Sunny Bounder (12) - M3-A "Scyk" Interceptor "Light Scyk" Interceptor (-2)

•Asajj Ventress (51) - Lancer-class Pursuit Craft Push The Limit (3), •Latts Razzi (2), Rigged Cargo Chute (1), Burnout SLAM (1), Shadow Caster (3), Engine Upgrade (4)

A few other notables but less used pilots:

Inquisitor, basically an HLC for cheap.

Scum Boba Fett isn't bad but not as good as Rey.

Norra's Ability with FCS is pretty nice.

Palob's (**** any of the HWK pilots) is a great ability on this chassis.

Sabine Wren in the Phantom. Essentially Advanced Sensors for free.

Played thweek in a tournament on the weekend.

First round :took PS (no abilities i could take)

Second round: took nothing (highest ps was 3 on the other side)

Third round: took Sabine Wren in the attack shuttles ability (pre manouver boost or b-roll) was amazing with the 1 bank b-rolls.

Forth round: Took Guri's ability.... i had two guri's was awesome.

End of the day, its a fun ability i really like it, but Guri is really solid with the new title and probably better choice. However thweek is fun as ****.

What sucked hard was having my Viktor Kel getting thweeked... omg that ship was annoying as all **** to shoot at. 3 evade, auto thrusters, and i took a stress for shooting at it every time. There are some abilities that are just nasty as all **** on a starviper. Someone in the tournament Thweeked Luke's ability and that was also a pain in the *** to try and kill.

I am pretty sure people are going to have to consider thweek when list building... if i run this pilot in this build will that ability on a starviper kick my teeth in?

I put Hot shot blaster on guri and in 4 games i never once used it because with that new b-roll i was always able to get an in arc shot off... amazing title for guri.

What was your list?

Had 2 games with Thweek tonight. In the first I copied Marek Steele's ability (meh) but the second was with Countess Ryad. We interpreted it as if any straight can be K-turned for the starviper now. (but the colour stays the same. Correct?)
Great game that was. :)
