I just feel everyone is going to paint theirs grey. Does anyone have pics of alternate paint ideas? I looked them up on google image and saw nothing but grey.
Alternate ATST paint scemes
I might have to go for Dark grey.
Thinking of doing one in my favorite color, 'overcast sky'
Edit: try searching 'at-st camouflage' and similar. There're examples of I think bandai models painted up.
Edited by rabidaskalThere was a Wizards of the Coast Miniature “Wookie Hunter AT-ST” done in a Green scheme.
I think the Imperials don’t do camouflages because they’re like “Hey we’re the Empire, you can’t stop us, we don’t need to hide, we’re the most powerful”. Or it’s probally cheaper for them not to paint their vehicles ?.
I image we will see crazy paint schemes. German urban paint camo schemes may not be to far of a stretch.
Edited by OmegacloneSearch 'Imperial Assault General Weiss' or 'Imperial Assault AT-ST' and you might get some inspiration.
Or just general weathering or battle damage can go a long way to make the plain gray walker look more interesting:

That's what I would consider it to be. You don't want to be subtle when you're being as direct as they are.
Sabine's AT-ST, anyone?
I wonder if these will come with decals.
In my thread for my painted Imperial Assault Miniatures, I painted all 3 of my AT-ST's a different paint scheme. One as if it just came off the factory line, one weathered and one done in black and silver.

Bolt Action (WWII table top game) has rules for using opposing factions armor. Cost more than normal and a few other penalties.
Decals would be amazing! Separate decal sheets would be nice.
A white ATST would look great!
Black

And more to the point, will they be pronounced "dee-cals" or "deckals"?

Is deckals a thing? Never heard it (UK)
When it comes to paint jobs and miniatures, I say do whatever. Movie accurate forces will look cool, but they'll likely be the norm. I think unpainted minis like this are a great opportunity to come up with your own little fan fiction army. For example, I plan on doing a lot of purple accents and play my group as a Sith Loyalist cult group.
If you want examples of fun vehicle paint jobs, I'd actually look at work done on 40k's(ugh) Ork vehicles.
Royal Guard ATSTs incoming...

I work with a lot of Canadians ... they all say deckals, eh.

I believe that's going to be sorted out right after the 40k players figure out if it's "laz-gun" or "laze-gun."
Mine is going to be jet black with grey edge highlight and red stripe across the front plate.
The black 'elite ATST' from force commander looks cool (massive miniguns available as optional extra).
