Does the damage card from the HARPOONED! condition activate Captain Jostero?

By Boba Rick, in X-Wing

I mean, how else could launch work? would we just fling the token into the sky like a rocket?

there was the weird mission in imperial vets (if I remember right) where you dropped and then flung the bomb foward with a 5-foward, but that's a fiddly prospect at best and we have the keyword "instead" to make life easier for us all

On ships other than Jostero, sure.

well yeah.

I tried pretty hard for awhile to get those kfighters to be deadly. I love the aesthetics of the ship and thats usually the main selling point for me, if its atleast playable without requiring absolute PERFECT play (which is stressful and a half) and looks awesome i'll use it.
Best i could do was have Manaroo with Mindlink on Jostero, K4, ATPs, and Feedback and just hug the crap out of him. It actually worked really well, feedback was just a failsafe incase the ATPs didnt trigger his attack first (since i'd rather have him attack +1 free damage than just attack with 3 unmodded dice...assuming she used her focus defensively and usually did)

This is exactly what makes me think it might be this.

eh, see there you still dropped the bomb before

trajectory occurs instead of dropping

it's also just a really annoying thing to try and keep track of. See, dropping bombs is already a bit of a hassle when the drop-on-dial-reveal token has to go under another ship, so imagine adding another opprotunity for it to overlap multiple ships (especially in a scenario where you bump before the bomb goes sailing five forward into you and the ship you're bumping)

at least half of this annoyance goes away if it's just a simple 5-foward deploy

That's part of the reason I suggested a rule change to bombs that specified that bombs could not be dropped if the template overlaps a ship. Bombs are not usually a melee weapon. (this was before the genius nerf)

I hope it is from a lack-of-fiddliness perspective.

As someone who enjoys playing aces, just... blah.

We don't need yet another thing that biases the game in favour of small numbers of big ships with lots of hull that can withstand autodamage.

yeah the wording on trajectory is whacky.

i would imagine the intent is to use the forward guides with a 5fwd because that makes the most sense to me out of flavor text. Whether or not thats the intent, no idea.
Would be hilarious though if you just drop it normally, but with a 5fwd. Deathrain would have a fieldday with that as he'd be able to still use the front pegs rofl
