I think the basic truth is that there's nothing better than a Contracted Scout for Contracted Scout points.

Except when you've two aces who are action-linked together, it becomes pretty clear you need to kill one of them, then knock out the second now it's action-limited, and there isn't all that much the scout offers to change that math.

It's a great ship, but outside a mindlink in a squad like this, you really want to threaten with another finisher/glass cannon they don't want to leave till last.

I'm not sure who that might be; I'm just suggesting it's what you'd want to have. Genesis red with VI and an HLC might do the trick, for example, if the PS wars ever settle back into single figures.

No doubt.

Scum is the most efficient faction and when push comes to shove, they are the default winners when the meta is in flux. Hopefully this is a transition period and we haven't already landed on the next "it" squads.

Getting pretty familiar, seeing that many Protectorate and Lancers and Bumps on the top tables...

Assaj is still one of the toughest ships to kill, under ideal circumstances. 2 dice with focus/evade and an extra evade per stressed enemy attacking, plus 10HP. And being tough to kill is a key part of the current meta where Harpoons are so strong.

Aside from being an amazing blocker that poops out a stress cloud the opponent needs to avoid while telling Asajj and Fenn where the enemy is going to be so they can move their arcs or boost into range 1?

Considering it just won a system open I'd be more inclined to look for the reasons why it's good than to dismiss it out of hand.

That looks right. Balls, I wish I'd packed that into my bag this morning instead of Guri/Fenn/Scout.

I've been running Guri and Manaroo mindlinked with PtL Fenn. Since you can trigger Guri or Manaroo in either order, it still operates very much like everybody is mindlinked.

Manaroo can pass her tokens to Fenn, then Guri triggers her ability and gives Manaroo her focus back.

With Intel agent on Manaroo, Guri's PS 5 is far less of an issue too.

I would prefer the scout with adaptability. With PS2 you can block Loks, Liberators and other scouts with PS3 or 4 (in the case of Manaroo).

The system open was just won with a paratanni list, It had Fenn and Ventress Linked with their usual upgrades, and the scout had adaptability, intel agent and rigged cargo chute. So the list itself is not dead, and I think having fenn and ventress linked is the better option, as it lets the scout drop to PS2 to block when needed, and it gives a 1 pt bid so you can have your scout move before them wookies, to block them.

I actually want to try it with trick shot instead. Make the scout selectively better at shooting, and I don't think I need the PS2 that much.

The PS 2 is there cause it's a blocker, so you use it and the initiative bid against things like quad tlt, wookies, and other low ps lists so that you can actually block them.

Yeah, given the number of things down at 2 right now I can see the advantage in Adaptability. It helps the ship perform its primary role rather than trying to tack something extra on top.

I guess I haven't seen a lot of PS2 around here. May need to get more games in and see what's going on.

Plus with the Assault Gun Boat soon to be available, we're sure to see some Nu ships.

Been thinking about replacing the Scout with Thweek. It's more akin to the Fenn/Teroch/Asajj list than Parattanni but still seems pretty decent. Two closers and a tank.

A Scout is probably still better though.

I don't like PTL Asajj much as she's too predictable moving almost only speed3 greens and second stress kilks her actions completely. But it's still powerful ship ofc.

If it's still a good list after all those nerfs, can you imagine how OP it was in the first place? :P

I prefer linking Fenn and Asajj so to free the Scout's actions. Usually, with the help of Intel Agent (which is **** OP at just a point), it often prefer to spend its action to barrel roll to block or to dump a rigged debris.

He had a mirror match (technically, Fenn linked Inaldra and a LW Asajj , with init to boot)
