Guns Not For Hire

In the movies, even Dooku is a waste. They should have just let Maul live and let Anakin kill him .

OTOH, Dooku is a much better character in the the CW cartoon. Greivous is still a bit dumb, though.

Edit: :ph34r: by SabineKey!!

But Dooku is by far the cleverest character name of any villain!

George Lucas, sitting in a high chair wearing a diaper: “let’s name the bad guy Count Poopy-Butt!”

Screenwriter: “Uh...”

Lucas: “Darth Poo-Poo?”

Screenwriter: “Well...”

Lucas: “Dookie! That’s my last offer! Waaaaaaaaah!!!!!”

Screenwriter: “I know George! Let’s combine all your ideas into... uh... Count Dook-oo!”

Lucas: “Yay!!!”

Well, if we are talking what really should have happened, then Maul shouldn't have died in Episode 1 and been in the Dooku role throughout the prequels.

Accepting that that mistake was made, I actually think it was better to go with Maul. We actually had some history with him, as did the other characters. The whole "the secret apprentice before X apprentice" can fall flat if improperly handled.

But...but... Christopher Lee!

Granted, Lucas didn't really use him effectively, and even his performance couldn't salvage that dialogue, but still... Christopher Lee!

What are you talking about?? Look at this diversity:

Luke = Anakin's son.

Leia = Anakin's daughter.

R2-D2 = Anakin's droid ally.

C-3PO = Anakin's droid hobby.

Kenobi = Anakin's teacher.

Dooku = Anakin's enemy.

Need I go on?

OBI-WAN KENOBI!

I don’t know... is he related to Old Ben?

I still wish we could have watched him corrupting The Shire, but I suppose that would have been a fourth entire movie in itself!

(Not that I see that as a reason not to do it...)

"Do ku" actually means "of the anus" in Portuguese

Lucas might be more clever than we thought

Give me a

I totally wanted this scene in the LOTR movies, at least in the extended version. But no, they had to add that whole extra battle scene... (the one right before the battle of Minas Tirith. Forgot the name of that city by the river.)

I really liked the idea of all the new, Clone-Wars only characters. Anakin, Padme, and Obi-Wan were all pretty boring to me because we already know the end to all their stories.

As much as I disliked how powerful they were, Cad Bane and Ventress were better villains for that series, because we don’t know for sure what happens to them. Similarly, Ahsoka and Rex were good heroes. I like not knowing which characters are going to die at the end - my biggest gripe with a lot of Star Wars is the fact that so many things are foregone conclusions (it seems that 95% of Star Wars material is a “prequel” of some manner).

My other big gripe is that the same small cast of characters does everything. That’s why I’d like it if Maul had died and they’d given a brand new character some time in the spotlight.

Originally, I would agree with feeling board with the older character being used in the show. But I grew to enjoy their inclusion because it gave me more of the stuff I love (Obi-Wan in the middle of danger with his self assured smile) and restored my respect of other characters (like Anakin). Yeah, I knew where they would end up, but the journey was still enjoyable.

Now, that being said, the CW original characters did have a lot of charm and were interesting as well. I don't like how Ahsoka started off so snarky, but as time past, it felt right. Ventress had a really interesting arc through the show and Cad Bane was a bad@$$. Heck, my favorite part of the Clone Wars is the Clones. I felt the writers did a good job depicting them and Dee Bradly Baker did a phenomenal job voicing all of them.

But this is also where things get a muddled. The character you're describing honestly doesn't sound so different from Ventress or Savage Opres. These were new characters with reasonably interesting back stories. Adding another new guy in who fit the same mold could have felt same old, same old, Unless this character was given something that really set them apart, but that has its own set of extremes to worry about. Plus, while Palp would still have a connection to this new apprentice, I'm not sure anyone else would. Giving him or her the kind of rivalry for a Jedi that Maul had with Kenobi would have been dangerous sense that would have dispelled this period of "nothing new on this Sith front" between epi 1 and 2, which I do think is important.

I will agree, that is the flaw in eliminating Dooku.

Nor Natalie Portman nor Ewan McGregor, who could have been amazing had they been given their heel. McGregor was about the only actor able to pull a reasonable performance out of that mess.

But Boushh is just Leia in disguise.

Well, since Scum gets Maul and Aphra, let's toss in Leia as Boushh as Chewie as Snoova. Han and Lando are smugglers, and Darth Vader started out as some slave brat so they are Scum too.

Maybe we can just move all the characters over to S&V and just get rid of factions altogether (salt salt salty salt).

Boushh was the persona she presented herself as. There really was a Boushh.

Yeah, I know. I just had to get all that out. I'm better now.

I think I have said it elsewhere, but I hope we get an Old Luke card from TLJ.

TFA Luke
Crew. Zero Points.

Place a Luke token when deploying, if you are discarding Luke, you may discard the token instead.

Yeah, we totally need more versions of the same old characters :D

I'd rather have 1 Obi-Wan than 4 Sabines and 4 Zebs. Nothing against Rebels or or kids shows or new stuff: but Obi-Wan! Luke!

Osgiliath. For Faramir!

That's the beauty of it!

Leia crew is pretty much unplayable. Far too expensive, and hard to fully leverage. Every other major movie character who's in the game is playable. Leia isn't.

But I really want Leia, because she's awesome, and Carrie Fisher was awesome. So make "Boushh" with some sort of ability which captures the flavor of holding a thermal detonator on Jabba, so we can finally put her in a list.

*edit* I guess Lando is kinda meh, but still...
