I really do not get what people like so much about darth maul its a swallow character with a stupid 'this is the evil alien' look and a mind boggling impractical light sabre design. You couldn't make him more stupid or boring.

Using his hate for the person that humiliated him to keep himself alive against all odds? Trying to hurt Obi-Wan's morals as much as possible to make him suffer as he did? He's a great character. C'mon. It sounds like the only place you ever saw him was Episode I.

Rebels: K2-SO

Empire: KX-series Security droid

Scum: HK-47

I've left a link to the Scum; if you don't know him learn him.

HK-47 " I am like a veritable fable, warning against the karma caused by murdering others, a morality tale if you will. What utter irony. "

Um.

In any event, in Ep 1 he was a barly bad-*** fighter with a cool ship . Not my fault they dumbed him down in The Clone Wars (and Rebels) just so they could sell a new action figure.

Not every Darth wants to be remembered for his nadir. ( :P )

So what was he in that movie? A hollow (no background at all) guy with an stupid I-am-the-bad-guy look with the most stupid lightsabre design ever. Such a shame this loser could kill Qui gon (who was basically the only cool character in that flick)

Maul is in the Phantom 2, FWIW.

It ain't worth diddly to me. I play the faction that includes Sith, but no DARTH Maul. I don't care about his resurrected wimpy future self.

Hmm. There have been some good minor characters on the journey.

  • Imperial: Thrawn (bad scale, I know)
  • Scum: Aphra
  • Rebels: Hey, let's throw a new EU character as opposed to the array of old I barely remember.. Evaan Varlaine

yup, those are near the top of my list too. Aphra could have some really interesting interactions and create some neat jank! We also need her death droid duo as crew! make it happen FFG.

He wants Ezra to help him take down Kenobi.
Even Maul's lair on Dathomir has Kenobi scrawled on it in ancient text. He is soley driven by his bloodlust, but he's also a sympathetic character. His mind was fractured by the Dark Side.

Still, double sword designs are inexcusable stupid.

Even when they're based off of real design?

Real designs that get their designer killed?

lol i gotta see a source for that

Double bladed Sword is a stupid fantasy gizmo that has no real use but making a weapon deliberately worse by wasting material.

It's based off of staffs that are gripped at the center.

Staves are well known for not having blades that occupy 2/3rds of their length though. Also for not being wielded solely from the middle.

In staff fighting you will make use of the range by griping it at one end which you can not do with a double blade. Also a Staff is an improvised and not a sophisticated weapon. If you actually expect fighting you should upgrade your staff by attaching a blade to one end (only one! two is to much)

Rebels: General "bigger Stache than Biggs" merrick

Imps: Orson "and yet another imperial shuttle" Krennic

Scum: Talon " I can eaves drop on the NSA" Kardde

Perfect!

Also, since his novel confirmed he's quite decent in the cockpit, how come Grand Moff Tarkin isn't a pilot yet?

Cause his pilot-ace days are long over during the OT time?

On which note, you totally know Rey is gonna have a pole-saber by the end of TLJ and it will be awesome.

It actually would make sense in a single combat sphere to have blade projectors on both ends, but only of a staff, rather than a foot-and-a-half long handle. IN a regimented combat capacity you only want a sharp bit on one end, but being able to flexibly change which end of your staff has the blade on would be great in a duelling capacity.

Hurumpf, more proof that FFG hate the Imps. Maul is a Darth and belongs in the faction that has the other Darths.

Ah yes, the Fantasy Flight Illuminati have worked for decades to make it so that Darth Maul was never in the Empire, ever, and as such would be a nonsensical fit as an Imperial Pilot. Fantasy Flight wrote the story so it would be stupid and outlandish at all to have Darth Maul, who has no affiliation and bears active antipathy for the Empire at large, piloting under that Imperial cog. Fantasy Flight has made all of this transpire over the years because Fantasy Flight Games hates the Imperials.

But Darth tho...

As to the point of the thread, my list;

Scum AND Imperial: Han Solo

Scum: Lando Calrissian

Scumperial: Dr. Chelli Lona Aphra

Don't think double blade makes much sense there. Actually that design would make a weapon slower and less flexible.

Ewok in an X-wing (yub yub commander)

Hondo & Boo (go for the eyes!)

And for imperial...if wookiees can have wood ships, wampas should get ice ships.

I wouldn't expect it to be used with both blades extended simultaneously

just with the option of one or the other, as needed. It's not really something that can be tested against existing weapons, because weaponas don't exist that can have weightless retractable blades...
