This night my wife picked up a guns for Hire pack for me and really like the new Star Viper, which got me thinking,

Which is you favorite painted ship?

Personally I love the SF TF with the Red interceptor/defenders a close 2nd. I feel like the white panels and the splash of red make that ship outstanding.

For me, it's a tough choice between the ARC-170 and Glaive Defender.

(of course, assuming we are ranking factory paint jobs... because, if we included re-paints it would be crazy-hard to choose... just a quick browse in the Painting & Mod sub-forum should make that evidently clear)

Well, the Falcon definitely has one of the better factory paintjobs - the ship design, itself, has never really done much for me (and I have always hated playing against it).

Otherwise...I dunno, that C-ROC Gozanti is pretty sexy. The U-Wing is nice. Can hardly knock the bog-standard Imperial TIE Fighter or the Lambda shuttle, just for their spartan simplicity and clarity of design. (For that reason, my *hunch* is that I'll like the gunboat the best, once I have it in hand - but obviously it's not out, yet)

I mean...there is just something about that shuttle, right?

But, then, the nice simple grey of Imperial colors is so nice, too...

Y'know, I'm not sure I ever considered favourite paint scheme before. They are all quite impressively done. I do feel protective of the T-65 that came with the transport. It's pretty sharp.

I really wanted the B-wing from the Aces pack to be like the picture. I cant disagree with you though these are outstanding.

I keep meaning to, but ever since Photobucket self-destructed I haven't made the time to make a new photo sharing account or take new photos; sucks because I'm rather proud of some of them.

The B-Wing from the Rebel Aces kit definitely tops my list of least favorite factory paint-jobs. Indeed, I traded mine to someone for a standalone B-Wing model so I'd have 4 of the good looking ones.

Which is an interesting point - the B-Wing was definitely one of my favorite ships back in the day. Had the old model kit on my shelf for the longest time. The stand on that one had it flying on its side, which (IMHO), is a much more interesting pose for it, but I get why FFG had to go upright...

ARC-170 and the Mist Hunter are probably mine, with the Imperial Red craft close behind.

Mist Hunter is probably also my favorite sculpt that they've ever had to 'design' (ie, didn't have authorative reference models); a pity I never managed to make it useful.

For the stock schemes, I like the first order TIEs. They look really sharp out of the box.

But anything stock comes distant second to any repaint. Something that someone poured their heart into, something that is unique, is always going to be better.

Those are both outstanding, but in particular the rounded blue sweeps on the A-wing are crazy good.
