Objective focused imperial fleet

By ovinomanc3r, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I have been thinking on something different to what I have been playing recently. I always end on some kind of conga line of arquitens and despite I like the ship the idea doesn't excite me. I put an interdictor or a quasar to get something more tanky or offensive cause arquitens always feel like a pillow fight to me (it is probably that I didn't get practise to focus enough fire with them yet). Nothing satisfying on the paper. Then I mixed that idea with my two inderdictors and the fact that I don't play them as much as I liked and boom! Something funny came to me. It could be not great but I like it enough to give it a try. As I never get too much punch with this kind of list why care about it. Why not giving more time to the fleet to do its job.

Basic idea: double G7-X to speed 0 the enemy and get as many points as I could while the enemy fleet arrives and stand against the desperate attack.

Objectives would be fire lanes and sensor net and, probably station assault.

I know @Drasnighta have worked with double interdictor and G7.

Tips? Advice? Encouragement?

Greater than 50% of your combat fleet is Interdictors and Lambdas.

With that, leverage them as much as **** possible. Consider FC/FCT for Interdictors (since you can really reposition the Sensor to your favour, or also consider Salvage Run), or at least one. Targeting Scrambler and Grav Shift Reroute should be your 2 other Ex Retrofits of choice.

Then seriously consider Ion Cannon Batteries for the Interdictors, to up their potential damage outputs for every shot they make.

Then with the rest of your points, well... a Cheap finishing Demo might help, but you've got to choose between that and an expanded corps of Fighters... Both are legitimate, both are useful, you've just got to make that personal encouragement.

I personally leverage the G7s for not only Objective and Pacing control like you do, but also to enable to patented Nose Punch. Because if you're going to have the enemy at Speed 0... You might as well capitalise on everything that entails.

Commander?

Nose Punch with Jendon (double Maarek) in addition to 2 lambdas?

Someone tried a bunch of lambdas and rudor and ruthless strategist? @Ginkapo

Motti is probably the perfect addition if you want to bunker points fast and then try to outlast and delay as much as possible.

I'd suggest you go hard into the squads since you are already paying 15/30 points on Lambdas. Aim for 4 activations if you can. 2 Interdictors, 2 Comms Net. It's likely you will max at 400 points, so you should have a plan to go first and second. Luckily, all your objective manipulation can put you in a better position, but I really think this list wants to go second. By going into squads, it also capitalizes on a powerful alpha strike if you get forced into first player.

For your commander, I'd suggest JJ or Motti. But I bet you could make a killer list with Thrawn. Tuck away 3 squad commands so you can double down on Repairs. Comms Net the tokens, get 8 Eng, and then squads and then attack.

If Tarking was point-viable...

That's why Thrawn is better!

Thoughts:

Wondering if Sloane would be interesting with another interceptor instead of tempest or ties to get another ace.

Disposable capacitors downgrading interceptors.

The idea would be to get extra points from the enemy squadron formation. I also got 2 points so Sloane is in mind. The fleet has 4 aces and 8 blue anti ship dice.

I quick doubt. Can I use targeting scramblers on the stations? I think yes cause I remind some rule about them being as allied ships but it could be the defend base objetivo not this so I ask.

I suppose I will see when I played it but I calculate three rounds before the engagement with some long shots during the third round as best.

Not counting Ozzel, Garm, Tarkin or Leia. Coms net could help them but that requires speed 4 ships so not sure how much it would change.

I've used a combo of lambdas and Valen to cause some awkward squadron lockups in the past. And of course, you can dominate the token games, especially Minefields and Fire Lanes.

A good one to pick is Quasar+Squall, which lets you move tokens before you pick them up with the ship. Of course you then have to figure out which squads to support. But it lets you force that red objective if you bring something disgusting like a BTAvenger.
