Ps clarification

By Browncoat50, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If I run a swarm with all ps 4 pilots. Do I have to select the order on with they execute maneuvers and then reverse that for attacking or can I change it up each turn the order in which they do what they do.

Sorry, relatively new player. Been collecting more than playing

You can change it up every time. If you want to activate it 1, 2, 3, 4 and then shoot 3, 2, 1, 4, you can. You choose each time whatever order you want to activate them in.

Pilot skill 4 goes between Pilot skills 3 and 5 in the maneuver phase. Same for Shooting phase. There is no rule stating that 4a has to go before 4b etc. You choose which pilots act when at the pilot skill they have when it is their turn to act, in any order.

Your choice either way. Generally speaking, if multiple things happen at the same time, the owner chooses the sequence.

It gets a bit more complicated if multiple things happen at the same time but are "owned" by both players. Then initiative decides what resolves first.

Thanks guys. Helps a lot

This is one of the reasons you may want to consider having all your ships be the same PS, just by the by. It can make your decision making a lot easier when you can choose the order of operations, especially in close quarters.

^^ Especially in close quarters! Nothing worse than being in a knife fight with no actions.
