Hi guys, I guess we will still see Nym even after the Genius Nerf. But since the danger of Miranda dropping Clustermines into your squad has been somehow decreased, I thought about trying this:
Hunting Nym after FAQ
It's good; I like it, assuming you are taking Rex for PS rather than ability.
My personal Taste, I would take Vess with IonCannon.
K-Wings aren't big fans of either Stress or Ion and neither is Nym.
I do question Juke and Comms as you can't get an evade token naturally with SFs
Edited by the1hodgyThanks, I totally overlooked the missing evade action. Vesserys PS is in my experience too low to counter Nym efficiently, the way I used him was with Quickdraw and Swarm Tactics but if Nym flies last it is still quite hard to make it work. This way I was hoping to catch him somewhere at Range 2 then be able to pull him into Range 1 preferrably out of his arc, as I usually see him with TLT this denies him attacks and makes him suffer quite a bit. But if you have any suggestions on specs that make Ion cannon work I am happy to try it.

I tend to commit to the low PS; here is the list i've had some success with;
(The TIE shuttle is there to die and make vess's first engagement; count Vess should have double focus for defense and expertise for both offensive shots.
The Glaive; can TL due to still having his focus from the shuttle which helps for pushing damage through or defence and the PS boost by 1 allows the tractor beam to reduce the agility for Vess.
Hopefully after both defenders have fired they have removed the shields which allows the shuttle to make it's death run with vader. If not; hopefully the target is ioned.

•Colonel Vessery (43) - TIE Defender
Expertise (4), Ion Cannon (3), TIE/D (0), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
Glaive Squadron Pilot (35) - TIE Defender Adaptability (0), Tractor Beam (1), TIE/D (0)
Scimitar Squadron Pilot (22) - TIE Bomber TIE Shuttle (0), Long-Range Scanners (0), Fleet Officer (3), •Darth Vader (3)

Edited by the1hodgyIs LRS valid on a TIE Shuttle though? The title makes it loose the torp and missile icons, so I would have thought you cannot equip the scanners anymore.
Other than that I think the list looks fun and I will give it a try. I would still love to make my squad work somehow thought. Any suggestions on ept on quickdraw?

That is a very valid point.....turns out i've had success as i've not played by the rules..............it's casual so we house ruled it.....that works.............nothing to see here officer.
As for EPT on Quickdraw; VI is popular atm and expertise is really good. if neither of those two i would suggest either crackshot, score to settle, adaptability
Edited by the1hodgyOk, since I really like the idea of two Defenders and struggle fixing my list, how do you like this:
Vessery with Ion Cannon, Expertise, TIE/D
Rexler Brath with Tractor Beam, VI, TIE/D
Epsilon Ace
This even gives a 2pt initiative bid and as long as the TIE/fo has not been hit it has the highest pilot skill and can maybe to some annoying stuff.

Looks; good. Am a big fan of Epsilon Ace the PS12 should allow you to get the Lock on really annoying targets like Poe as PS12 is the highest.
Give it a go; but let me know how you do.
I flew the squad yesterday. I guess it is valid, but in the first game I flew very terribly and forgot that the Nym I faced had an engine upgrade. In the second game I basically rolled blanks all the time, nothing you can do about that. I guess it will need further testing to determine how strong it can be. Epsilon Ace really did a good job in giving Vessery target locks though and it took surprisingly long until it lost its pilot ability since the Defenders are priority targets. So I feel like this ship is the proper wingman for Vessery.
