I certainly hope so. We had tons of anti ace tech added to the game during their absence, so I am not 100% sure if they really are back, but I certainly gonna try. With old man rau, genius bomblets all day and aSLAM bombs gone, I think it is at least worth trying again. Let's hope for awesome.
Survey says:
I’m kind of surprised we’re not talking about X-7’s being high on the food chain again. I know in my area they were pretty much bailed on in favor of the S/F. Also, I see Carnor Jax getting a solid more consistent role again as his ability to survive has taken an increase albeit small. Also curious about twin gunboats with twin TLT Aggressors. All which might be able to focus in again.

so I'll just say I disagree that Rey is even anywhere near Dengar's league even with all these nerfs. She gets more damage out if you ignore her, but her output is still nothing compared to "payback"

Before there was a-slam Sabine Miranda, there was torp/missile Miranda. She's fine. In fact a-slam doesn't phase that build at all (but you'll want GC or LRS anyway)

Always wanted to learn E-wing, but never had the guts to fly it. I think now is my chance.
I thought imps were the best faction before the nerf, now I think they are the best even more so.

That Miranda is now stressed after she bombs you into oblivion won't really change the fact that she just, y'know, bombed you into oblivion . Decent alpha strikes can wreck her day even now, so that's no different. And as others have said, she's still brutally powerful packing missiles instead of bombs.

I know the facts don't back it up, it's just my personal opinion.
I think people just gravitated to the other two factions because they're easier and/or they were too scared of bombs.
Imp aces, especially triple aces are really where it's at for the empire. And they have soooo many combos they can use for those 3 aces in a list. Many of them PS 9+.

A well flown Rey will beat a well flown Dengar at his own game. She turns round easier, clears stress easier, hits harder, and is tougher, and they both want to be jousting. But Rey doesn't fit into Rebel lists as well, and isn't as good versus things that don't want to joust her.

I agree. Depending on what you mean by 'best'. If you mean 'best' as in the sexiest, the schwiftyiest, the soul-n-funkiest, then you are correct. If you mean that pre FAQ they were the most competitive, or most likely to win a game, then no......no they were not.

And than dengar revenge shots every turn and Rey dies by a 1000 sledgehammer hits.

Basically
Honestly, dengar wins 1 on 1 by virtue of higher ps and native barrel roll. The extent to which Dengar benefits by having his arc on his attacker is world's away from what Rey gets
About her only real positive is how kanan cheats debris
Thweek will be the meta

That's actually pretty deep if you think about it
I think that the meta will be healthier once Gunboats come out.
Gunboats will keep low agility PWTs/bombers from being a dominant force, which will allow high agility aces to thrive with their predators having a suitable predator of their own. Which will lead to more list variety overall. The gunboats themselves will not be overpoweringly dominant due to being preyed upon by aces, but at the same time they won't be so vulnerable to aces that they become hunted to extinction.

You don't have time to think on internet forums. If you 'think,' you're dead.

I put a Defender down to try it out yesterday against Ego. I think the Defender was perfect in the Dengaroo Meta where all damage was coming from guns, but the X7 in particular just moves too fast and is too low a PS to really handle the Bomblet, especially the Sabine bomblet. While trying to keep shots going you open yourself up too much.
I definitely think I’m rusty with the Defender but I would say the overall higher PS of the SF combined with more offensive orientated builds rather than defensive has suited the last meta and will likely still suit the new one.
A lot of the meta hasn’t really changed at all TBH. Torpedo Scouts and Dengar alpha took the big hit while everything else seems pretty much the same. Biggs is barely unchanged for some lists, Miranda can still do a bombing run and Nym didn’t actually need to bomblet in your face.
There is a list at Aussie Nats that went 5-1 on day one with its only loss being to triple torpedo Scouts. It’s 2 TIE D Ion Defenders (PS1) and an Ion OGP with Palp and Collision Detector. It will be interesting to see how something like that fairs in the new meta.
I expect Assaj will make a huge comeback. Her brand of control is just too good to stay down for long.
