After the dust has settled...

By Nikolishin, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Now that the dust has settled, and Miranda / Dash is still standing - almost undamaged - as the only one from the old top-meta: one must count on Miranda / Dash is still the list to beat in the top. But how?

Good ideas for lists that beats Miranda / Dash?

3-4 Wookies Canoes?

Jess/Lowhhrick/Miranda?

TLT (Aggressor) Spam?

Never underestimate the power of a TIE/D Vessery against low agility ships.

with G4H could we see the new scum hotness being Starviper or Kihraxz based?

Talonbane / Bossk ?

starvipers and either IG or a lancer?

3 or 4 vipers?

I'd love for both of these lists to come to the surface, just as they would be something different

Well, I think Miranda is damaged from the change. At least, any Miranda version that uses action bombs. She is viable with bomblet generator/TLT, or missiles. But she is not the same bombing threat she was before. And does anybody see the reasoning for the change in Dash's text? Makes no sense to me.

Anyway, I think we are about to see an imperial resurgence. SF's were competitive before, and were completely untouched. Quickdraw could compete against Miranda/Dash for sure. The PS difference means that quickdraw is moving last unless Dash has VI, and realistically, VI Dash is not as dangerous as lone wolf of PTL Dash.

Another good option is expertise Dengar. I do think everyone will stop playing jumps because of the nerf, but Dengar is still a good pilot. Expertise, title, K4, countermeasures, and scavenger crane. You are more limited without unhinged, but this kind of build is more defensive and harder to kill. I'd pair him with something that has ordinance, or can put out alot of damage.

Droid on a Jumpmaster? ;)

It'd be nice. Too bad we can't do it anymore.

Miranda's been hamstrung. I definitely think the EI is viable, but now it's not the absurdity it once was. Being unable to chain action bombs unless you shed stress has brought maneuvering back to the decision tree.

Agreed. My thought is pairing her PTL/Kanan Dash. You have an opportunity to use Kanan to do a white maneuver and shed stress on either of them. It can work. It's just harder now.

As I person who flies Dash and Miranda, though rarely together, I hate going against Quickdraw or Omega Leader. Ships like Miranda and Dash are very vulnerable to being burned down to high output fire, what with their low agility. So, to counter them? Hit hard, hit fast.

Maybe it's because of Burnout Slam?
