There's not as much salt for the popcorn as I thought there would be.

Yeah I'm quite proud of the community for handling the FAQ. As far as I know, no one quit the game, but my brother burst into tears at the prospect that he can't fly Torpedo Dengar and Genius Nym anymore.

Hey, he can totally fly Genius Nym!
Take Extra Munitions and you can Genius the bomblets twice per game - the last shot being at the expense of the bomblets, but still a solid buy.

Given that Genius is literally 0pts, this is probably a reasonable deal, all told. Slap on TLT and use the bomblets to help cover your donut hole, and you could end up with a perfectly respectable pilot... just one that flies differently to the pilot of old.

My brother doesn't keep up with any of this. I can keep kicking his *** with torp boats for years.

I remember after Palpatine nerf people make fun about imperial players about to be salty.

As a rebel only player, I feel good. Biggs needed to go - not only did he limit design space and drastically limit list building for rebels, he was just not a lot of fun to play with or against. Good riddance.

Well, most people I've spoken with approve of the changes. So there's very little nerd-rage around this time. Phew.

As much as I would like more salt to gloat over, really, most people reacted okay.

I'd like to think they didn't throw a hissy fit like imps because these nerfs don't leave them in a situation like the imps were...

I fear however that there is a small amount of truth about the bitchiness of imp players. :/

I think the x7 was warranted and similar to things like the genius errata. I remember more people freaking out on that one. :/

Whatever faction you favour, whatever your personal style of playing the game may be, this FAQ for the most part is reducing the amount of "easy mode" lists that have been prevalent for the last 2 years or so.

Not perfect, but at least can encourage some tighter list construction.

I get the feeling that much of the so-called whining of Imperials was the feeling that with x7 and Palp gone, the faction hadn't been opened up - it had been eradicated.

They weren't wholly right - my own TIE/D list did just fine against Bombers; indeed, it was their whole point - but it sure felt like being kicked when they were down, I guess.

Rebels still have plenty of toys. So do Scum; indeed, they may have even more toys available now that the Torpboats are dead. The issue for the Imperials was that they weren't rocking the meta, they were trying to survive by the time the nerfs showed up, even if they were justified from an internal (ie, within-faction) point of view.
