I bought three Jumpmasters...

By Kyle Ren, in X-Wing

... and I’m happier than ever!:D

I would far rather have a fun, fair, and balanced game than see those stupid toilet seats dominate the meta. I had actually stopped ever playing them just because I felt so bad about it anytime I played them. There is no lore justification for them to be such good ships. Absolutely none.

So what about all the money I lost?

Well, first off, the Guidance Chips and plasma torpedoes from my Jumps are still being put to good use on various Imperial ordnance carriers. I also got way more than my money’s worth with those Attani Mindlinks while they were still legal.

Finally, this new Jumpmaster is so thematic! I’m totally going to incorporate them into my Roleplaying Game campaigns, because basic, unmodified Jumpmasters are used in the Outer Rim all the time for mapping hyperspace lanes. Already thinking about how it’ll work - maybe the Empire’s version of Michelin is super corrupt, and the PCs are trying to take them down? Who knows! All I know is I’m happy, and I’m gonna go play Imperial Aces and non-Biggs T-65s!

Cheers all! Congrats on the slightly more balanced game! Let’s hope this new method of fixing the disease rather than the symptoms keeps up!

Also, so that this thread isn’t just one of those garbage threads that doesn’t warrant any replies, who else has three Jumps and doesn’t think this is the end of the world? And what will you do with them? Sell ‘em? Buy a fourth?

I almost bought a third yesterday.

I still want that 3rd copy of Rage, tho.

I think it's a beautiful model, one of the best, so I bought two. Not at all regretting it, and I pretty much never fly JumpBastards. (Might need to change my nickname for them now ... )

I bought three Jumpmasters.

I also bought a bunch of other ships and hopefully they'll see a bit more play in future.

I have 3. No regrets.* Maybe I'll get a 4th in a fire sale. 4 are legal in Epic.

And maybe I'll actually fly it more, knowing that I'm not playing a broken NPE.

*On any of my purchases, because I buy this game to have fun. The game will always be fun regardless of the power level of the individual ships.

I bought 4 for epic play. My set up for them in 300 pts really hasn’t changed with this announcement.

Why not buy a forth and run them all together as 'Naked Scouts' (you heard it here first) 36HP is something to chew through.

I bought 2, not for the Jumpmaster's themselves (well not completely) but for the 4 Attanni Mindlinks. (Before it was cool, when Dengaroo was all the rage. I was so hipster before the FAQs dropped.)

I have 3 and love the ner f. Yay FFG!

I bought 3 Firesprays.

Own 3. Got Regionals dice running Trip Scouts. Love the nerf.

I would feel a lot better if the Punishing One gave back the 'mech and torp slots (even just the one would be fine) so maintain 'well technically you /can/ equip them'; with Dengaroo nerfed (because Manaroo is range 1 /and/ can't carry torps herself) I've not seen many Punishing One Dengars that have really been a problem. A tough fight? Sure. A *problem*? Nah.

Jumpmaster still had a turret and it's got that dial. Will people every play 3 jumpmaster lists again? Probably not but Dengar with his upgrade is still a excellent ship.

I’ve only one Jump, she’s never been out of the foam. Maybe now?

...got four Punishers though, three still in their space-age plastic display containers. I play the one quite often, humbling really; they certainly don’t live up to their name.

I agree that game-balance wise, he’s not a problem, but thematically, I’m happy that he’s not better than Han Solo anymore.

I only have one, and the nerf does nothing to stop me from wanting a second.

Amen, I own 2 jumps, 2 Scurrgs and 3 K-Wings and I'm very happy with this change, because I have other competitive ships I can use, and having a competitive mindset means adapting to a changing environment. And hopefully I'll hear less whining now from all the Imperial players that were conveniently quiet when Phantom and then Palp was dominating the game.

I'll buy a few if anyone is rage selling; I don't have any at this point, I didn't want to be part of that bandwagon (not knocking it, people can play what the rules allow :))

RoV

I've never even flown the single one that I have, solely because I'd feel like a complete WaaC ******* for bringing it out. Now it might actually be flyable, even if it still has that ****** dial.

One of the better models from the EU. Good on you to play what you like btw. :)

I have one? Don't regret the purchase even though I never quite got the hang of the blasted thing. I kept flying in circles for some reason.
