The incoming FAQ, sloppy though it may now currently be, certainly changes some things for us crafty entrepreneurs. Our time at the top of the mountain may be past, for the moment. The others may eclipse us for some time. As such I have a simple proposition for dedicated Scum and Villains: take this gracefully. Lets prove we're the better than the others by leaning in, not whining about every damned thing, by earning every victory with cheap tricks and base cunning. Lets shame them with our exemplary behavior, win or lose.

I'm confused, can anyone really be upset about the jm5k erratas?

I get being miffed about the jm5k expac because it's a real **** move to new players, but otherwise come on. EVERYONE knew this was coming

You still have the new vipers.

They are annoying as gak

Only reason they werent top tier was because of the jm5k, which pushed a TON of your ships out of the list not just the vipers.

A friend and me have ran Thweek a lot and good god he can be evil if used right. Easily MVP every game when i use him.

well, scum still has Rau

I have absolute certainty that he's coming back now that nym's basically gone

I dunno.....I am super excited to see where Scum goes from here.

Everything about this FAQ feels necessary to liberate the Rebel and Scum factions design space from Biggs/Jumpmasters.

I might end up flying alot more Rebel and Scum lists now that their other more interesting ships can take center stage over time.

Also lets be clear....Nym is not going anywhere he is still really good, there is still no equivalently capable ship in the game.

I'll admit, I'm a little sad about the Mindlink nerf as I did enjoy some lists that utilized it. But I will admit it was necessary.

I am a little troubled with the whole "Jumpmaster pack now contains cards it can't use" part. Hopefully the other part of the leak about the Astro slot being added to the title will come out at some point. But even with that, Jumps still have a lot going for them and should still see good use.

By all means, being reasonable about this is what should happen. To be perfectly fair, this nerf has been a long time coming. I am disappointed that mind link is now limited to 2 per squad, as it was good in 100 games and tons of fun in Epic, but oh well. Some sacrifices must be made. The jump in general being taken down by a significant margin was necessary for the health of the game and faction. Same goes for Nym and his interaction with genius and bomblets.

From my perspective, this really should just lead to more diversity. Shadow casters are still awesome and fun, the new vipers look fun, the yv is still a beast, the protectorate is excellent... Yeah, tons of options.

Also it might hopefully get us out of the PS war needing to be 10 and up to do much of anything. :P

So yeah, i am very hopeful for the future of the game. :)

I felt sad when I saw "Limited to 2 per squad". At least, I won't buy a second JM5k (Attani and chips were my only reasons, i like to fly just 1 ship unless brobots). We will have Guns For Hire. Not all hopes are lost. Maybe a couple of Black Sun Aces with Attani can help.

My main worry as a Scum player is: what beats Dash/Miranda ?

I'm looking at lists and I'm having trouble finding anything that doesn't feel strictly worse than Dash/Miranda.

I know that an adjustment was a long time coming, and honestly for me the biggest bummer is the Attani Mindlink nerf. Sacrifices must be made, but there was a ton of cool squadbuilding potential presented by that card.

As far as packing a ship with a bunch of cards it can't use, i feel as though before the FAQ goes live they'll stick the Salvaged Astromech and at least one Torpedo slot onto the Punishing One title. If they don't...*shrug* I bought my happy couple of Jumpmasters, I suppose the damage, for me, is done.

If FFG nerf the JM5K why they nerf the Attani, Why the Attani T_T

nothing is ever going to feel as bad as Dash/Miranda. they're kind of dumb

but Dengar is also kind of dumb and he still exists. Losing torps and unhinged has not changed that fact, especially now that he's free to take EU and dive right into range 1

Dengar is still 90% as good, but what pair him with? Scum Nym is kinda dead, and Assajj is a bit too expensive.

Maybe Black sun assasins/aces. Or an attani feeder which resist a lot with an ace (Tel Trevura or ventress with Cobra or Rau)

Agreed. While I did buy a second Jumpmaster so I could run three copies of Mindlink, I did that far back enough that I feel I got my money's worth out of it. I had my fun and I'll mourn the passing of some of those lists, but I also look forward to the opportunities these nerfs open up.

All in all, this FAQ sits with me better than the last one.

If you run Dengar with k4, EU and title, you can get 2 cartel marauder vaksai ks with cruise, chips, failsafe. Go with LW on Dengar and throw stim on the ks or go expertise to hit 100. Could be fun and still pack a punch. Or 3 Zs with cruise and chips with Dengar having PTL.

I think Ventress can be worth that cost.

However, if that's not your cup of tea, Fenn Rau might make a good come back, new Starviper options look fun, Palob is always a fun underhanded option, Y-Wings are solid, and Sycks have some nice filler options.
