No because after you use genius twice your bomblet will be discarded

Right so you can choose to Genius once and keep bomblet with Extra Munitions.

And then save the "last" Genius use for a key moment towards the end of Nyms HP countdown.

The bump restrictions are a big factor to though.

X-Wings now gone completely. Triple Scouts gone. Paratanni gone. Nym gone. K-Wings with Sabine and Mines gone. So, K-Wings gone.

The meta is wide open.

truthfully, when I did fly Nym, I never used Genius more than twice, in a game, so I really think it's not the worst thing in the world.

WOAH, woah, woah. Special Ops Training:

Does this mean I can't shoot two dice out the back, and then shoot two dice out the front? What if I really want that focus token for the aft shot, so I want to try that shot first? If I am understanding that correctly, I guess it's not a big deal.

its literally always been "fire out the front. Add 1 die or fire out the *** afterwords"
They just actually worded it properly this time. The trigger is and always have been "when attacking with your primary weapon out of your front arc" to activate the block of text on that card.

How is Nym gone?

Edit: Oh because you have to get rid of BG to use it with Genius...

That's nice, but as an avid Nym player, Genius is far more useful than once or twice a game.

As it is now, Extra Munitions should warrant his continued use in the meta (if you can fit Sabine into your list somewhere...)

Nym isnt gone...his suicide high speed divebomb strat is gone but he isnt. Adv sensors nym will still be a real thorn, he will just have another droid instead.

Right and alot of people had adjusted lists to Alpha strike Nym between Round 1 and 3.

So realistically Nym still gets to do alot of Nym things.

This just kinda maybe opens up the game to Non-PS10+ or Non-Alpha strike lists fighting Nym?

Really hard to say...

How is Nym gone? Cuz Genius?

Yes. The Genius changes GUT Nym like a fish since you can no longer use Genius and Bomblets together since Genius now specifies you need to discard the upgrade card to work. You can make up for it with Extra Munitions so you can get away with it once, maybe twice when low on health. But you certainly can't do it speculatively like before. It's going to require a complete rethink on how people build Nym, and it's possible the meta might just decide it's not worth it.

The lack of TLT nerf still annoys. Those things just suck up fun.

The only other thing they needed. Was a TLT nerf. All crits count as blanks.

Or at least an "ATTACK (FOCUS):".

9 minutes ago, Celestial Lizards said:

So the big five:

Mindlink: two per list.

Advanced SLAM: Only actions on the action bar, so no upgrade based actions (example; Vectored Thrusters adds Barrel roll to the action bar, so can be used with ASLAM, but cards like action bombs and Rage can't be triggered).

Jumpmaster Itself: torp slots and salvaged astromech slots gone.

Biggs: His ability happens once per game rather than for every shot.

Genius: Now doesn't work if ionized, or if it bumps. Also requires the bomb to be discarded, meaning using Bomblet generator with Genius would lose you infinite bombs.

Just now, Odanan said:

No because that completely nerfs it. I saw all crits counts a blanks. It weakens it, but doesn't Biggs nerf it :)

Nah. He's more like a more restrictive palp now. Good flying will see him make or break close games.

Just check the first page for my reaction.

Glad I only bought 1 jumpmaster.

Will Lowhhrick now take over Biggs spot? Clearly not as good as Biggs WAS, but can still help on def

Not sure but this might well be the end of fair ship rebels as a whole. And not onky because Biggs is completely out.

Because if Alpha strike Jumpys are completely gone, and bombs took at least a solid hit (they are still not bad imho), the meta might revert to an earlier state. Meaning that Aces might well make a solid comeback. And they are made for countering something like fair ship Rebels, and especially so if Biggs is gone now.

The question now is if we really go back to Aces vs. TLT meta...

Biggs isn't going anywhere.

He's only one turn a game, but that turn is going to annoy the **** out of you, especially once we get X-Wing titles that give him annoying wingmen who you can't shoot when you really need to.

Biggs is still ignorable by munitions. Except for a munitions alpha strike, what singular turn will have a massive enough impact to justify him? After the initial pass its difficult to keep R1 and still be a valid target. He might mess with 2 attacks, 3 if its mass turrets.

OS-1 Gunboats will LOVE people still taking Biggs. Choosing your weapon first still gets past him. So the ship that will ALWAYS be using locks to fire can just ignore him till the end game and take out the bigger targets.

Nah this time he is gone fir good. It’s probably not even a bad thing, but he is not worth it like this.

No. The effects happen. The trigger and target of the effects are still the same.

I was thinking seismic charges but that effect happens whe you drop it not when you fly past is my bad. I was thinking about range and flying past that effective range (1) to negate that effect. I get it doesn’t work that way should think before I post

So is LWF/Palped buffed? I’m still confused.

I'm still working my way though this thread, so this might have been answered elsewhere, but...

As I understand it, the FAQ didn't actually change the LWF/Palpatine interaction at all. Rather it calls attention to the way Lightweight Frame actually works. Lightweight frame has you _first_ roll your agility, and _then_ (under certain circumstances) roll an additional die.

Most players, for simplicity's sake, simply add a 3rd defense die when defending against 3 or more attack dice. This is _wholly understandable_ behavior. I would not usually say anything to anyone who does it. But that's not the way the card works. Because that's not the way the card works, it makes this Palpatine interaction different than it would be for (say) Soontir and Stealth Device.

I could be wrong on this, and they might have actually changed some text wording. But if not, it's worth calling attention to the way LWF works on paper, so that we can find some interesting and clever interactions.

Lol that’s a bad for the a OS-1 actually. When i saw it, i thought that this was perfectly tailored against him. But now, Bihhs will not be chosen anymore and the title might not be worth it.

Oh it still is for me, and if anyone still takes him, you'll be laughing.

Title will still be worth it purely on the mentality of "I can slam, reload, and fire anyway as long as i keep using an ordnance that doesnt burn the TL to fire it!"

I personally think the JM5K nerf is a bit too much. The title should give the taken upgrade slots back. 1 well kitted-out Dengar is tough but not unbeatable.

The rest is fine... I even like how Biggs' ability became thematic. He took the bullet for his friend when he had to, not all **** times. I'd like to see the coming X-Wing fix finally giving an EPT to him.

Goodbye toilet seats, goobye cheap SLAM-bomb gimmick (still love my K-Wing), goodbye disgusting FSR gimmick. You won't be missed.

Nothing that was nerfed was unbeatable. It about mixing things up, so people can ***** about different things. FSR 1.75 should be arriving soon, Thane is back, replacing Biggs. Bomblet is now easy to avoid with aces. So we might actually see them back as the scum mindlink aces are dead. I can't say I didn't enjoy the old meta, and the even older meta, etc

But things will get shaken up for sure and we will see some pretty nasty new lists. :D

The best part is really that Nymm needs to drop his bomblet if he wants to use genius. So he needs EM and he still has only two shots. That is enough to kill one ace, but never should be killing more than that. So non ps11 imperial aces might be back.

I still will miss the jumpmaster 5000 expansion as it basically has been now completely and utterly been nerfed to death. But hey, I got a good year worth of fun out of my mindlink protectorates AND I only switched to them because Imperial Aces was dead. So I guess, it is finally party time again.
