So I was flying TBC and he was range one of barely alive Dash (who was harpooned), and my Lok fires another missile at Dash... Turns a die to a Critical and the effect goes off AND Dash dies but TBC comes out with two damage.

Could the Lok simply choose to turn a die to a hit, not a Critical? It would have still killed Dash but saved TBC one damage.

The Jury is still out on this one officially, but I think that World's made a Floor Ruling that you had to make it a crit if your ship had a 3-dice attack.

Someone who was involved at World's would know for sure.

It's either a hit or crit, you can't choose.

The scenario was someone wanted to change a blank to a crit, even though their attack value was 3, because they did not want to proc "Draw Their Fire"

And it's now clear in the new FAQ! Crit only, no option for a hit.
