Does it work? Can you offload the ion after getting our shield back?
Pulsed Ray Shield and Ion Dischargers
Yes.
I've been considering getting a Kimogila and G4H to make a small Scum squad...

This could be just nasty! Tonight at the FLGS we were theory crafting this combination. Between Palob stealing tokens, Mux kicking pilots to "0" PS and the ion shenanigans, this build looks inviting.

I want to know more about this. It sounds devious and wonderful

So I was already regulary running Palob & Torkil alongside either Kavil or Quinn & Sunny, but for the longest time I've wanted Dace on the table!
Dace w/ Predator, Ion Turret, PRS, Ion Discharger, and Greedo
Palob w/ Predator, Ion Turret, PRS, Ion Discharger, and 4-LOM
Torkil w/ Ion Turret, PRS, Ion Discharger, and Dengar.
At the very least you're always getting 1 reroll, but most likely 2 if you can drop a unique pilot to PS 0, fully turning on both Predator & Dengar. Greedo causes opponents to think Dace is the biggest threat (He's not, its Torkil. His ability is insane!) while also letting Dace potentially hit for that much harder.

Just for the record, I hate Mux! That little SOB has caused me immense pain! Kept forgetting about his ability tell it was too late. He'll be great with the other two scum.

Tazerhwks?
I like a lot.

I just need to find a 3rd HWK, which should happen this week with the reprint reaching stores. Otherwise I've got all the pieces... Yes, I bought a 2nd Most Wanted and Guns for Hire, just to get 3 HWK-290s on the board.
I regret nothing.

I might have to try it myself. I've yet to us HWKs, but that many dirty tricks with ne'er a twin laser turret in sight is appealing.

For the longest time I've run them with TLTs in 2 different builds, the first of which (Slightly changed) was popping pre-nerf defenders each round, and the second which I've come to love, just for the sight of 2 HWK 2 Scyk on the table. (Quinn Jast & Sunny do a shocking amount of work. Quinn regularly can get 3-4 missiles off in a game, and Sunny has killed so many RACs that Torkil has dropped to PS 0, its not even funny)

Edit: Oh and there was an alternative build for Palob I was also fiddling with. It did alright in testing, hitting for good damage and all, but it still needs flight-time.

At my FLGS, it came to the point that any time I flew a Scum list with a HWK, my opponents would intentionally go after it first. Usually have having played me before and the lil' innocent HWK being responsible for the destruction.

Same thing at my FLGS. Everyone always underestimates the HWK at first... Then 2 of them alongside 2 Scyks systematically picks apart their list ![]()

I've seen them used, even if not used themselves. Palob and Torkil together are just a nightmare for aces.
I remember seeing them supporting Guri with Sensor Jammer and Predator once; it was painful to watch.

Yup they're Ace Hunters alright. The Y-wing/2 HWK build above (slightly modified since) has killed more than a few Vaders that never shot their Prockets, along with cleaning up fully healthy X7 Defenders in single rounds of fire.
