So many of us are hoping that the missing swx number is something along the lines of a scarif Veterans pack. Universal concencous is for it to have a much needed x wing fix but im curious as to why everyone is so egar for that pack to contain a Y-wing?

The Y-wing gets a fair amount of play but there is another ship that was found at the battle of scarif that struggles to see play on the "competative" scene - the U-Wing.

Im aware that its a newer released ships and i can predict there will be a number of comments below this of people telling me how often they use the U-Wing, but lets be honest, they dont see a place in tournaments and these aces packs come out to give ships a new competative edge, its clearly the direction FFG go for in these packs.

I see a lot of people wanting a k2s0 crew card and pilot which would be cool. A quick check on wookiepedia has shown me that there are two more named U-Wing pilots who were at the battle of scarif; Taslet Colb and Laren Joma , so there are definetly more named pilot options. Plus, correct me if im wrong, the U-Wings during the battle of scarif had a slightly different paint scheme then cassions one (the one in the original U-Wing release). I believe it has more blue on the front so we even have that as an option, all bit in a rather tiny change - about as much as the alt paint job on the x-wing in rebel transport epic release

Unfortunately, hoping for a Scarif Veterans pack feels like wishful thinking now - the window for releasing another Rogue One tie-in product is long since closed. Not to mention the recent designer admission that fixing older ships is not a high priority.
For what it's worth, I agree about the U-Wing: it's painfully underwhelming. I feel like a lot of its problems could be solved by putting it on a small base, which it should have had all along.

I don't mean to be that guy, since I haven't tried it, but I suspect those wings required a big box and may have been impossible to stabilize on a large base.

How about a condition card: "For Jedha!"

Placed at setup. Gives every X-wing in the squad vectored thrusters and push the limit.

Very thematic AND imagine the sea of X-wings that would flood the tournament scene.

I'm with you. Our game is built on hope!

Um, yeah, you sir have the love of core Star Wars in your heart. If you listen to the developer's talk about the game, you'd easily loose that hope. They are moving on, and they see no reason to release ships and upgrades that continue to bury the old loved ships because, well, if they aren't competitive now, they don't give a crap! Give it a good listen, my happily ignorant yet lovingly optimistic friend. I hold some hope only because fixing old ships is exactly what those Aces packs do. A wings, interceptors, defenders all come to life from Aces packs and theyre not the only ones. Im sure we are all heading to our FLGS this week to pick up our new fixes for the starvipers.

Everyone has made some fair points on why this is unlike but a man can hope :-D

Because the Y-Wing has yet to get anything more in the way of named pilots, and none of the generics have an EPT.

It doesn't really need game love, but it needs narrative love.

Personally I would prefer the Y-Wing to get some more love since its an Original Trilogy ship.
Sure you may see a cheap TLT carrier Y or Stresshog but the named pilots and heroes from the movies are barely played.

Y-Wings need something to make them have a role other than Stresshog.

Maybe a Heroes of Scarif with an X-Wing and TIE Reaper?

This. Seeing as the Y's have a prominent scene in Rogue where they cripple an ISD with a barrage of Ion torps maybe some sort of title like this:

Scarif Vet, Y-Wing Only, Rebel only

"Your upgrade bar gains the EPT icon and loses the Turret Icon. Your action bar gains the Reload icon. You may not equip if your PS is less than 4."

Turret Y's could still do their thing but now some Deadeye, R2, Guidance Chips equipped Torp boats could do some damage. Combine with 2 new named pilots that have abilities for Ordnance and you have more flexibility in builds.
