I know the original red core set has been reprinted several times. Is there a way to distinguish between printings?

I’d love to find an unopened, original first printing of the red core set.

Originals would have predated the Disney purchase if I'm not mistaken, I'm guessing recent reprints have the Disney branding while the ones prior to the purchase wouldn't have it. May not be first run still, there's not a way off the top of my head I could think to check that, it's not like there was any kind of special markings.

Maybe barcode. ???

X-wing was released Sept 14, 2012. Disney purchased Star Wars on Oct 30, 2012. So, it would make sense that the first run of games would not have the Disney logo on the back by the bar code. Since I doubt they sold out of the first printing between Sept and Oct then I would think any second printing would have the Disney logo on it.

And, if the pictures are correct, I just picked up an un-opened set off eBay that did not have the Disney logo. So, maybe I got lucky!

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I don't remember seeing a Disney logo on the packaging until Wave 6 or 7, and I just checked and saw that my two original core sets (purchased summer 2014 from different vendors) don't have the logo either.

Mystery OFFICIALLY solved. Figured I'd go straight to the source and call FFG. According to the phone call, if there is NO Disney logo on the SWX-01 Core Set then it IS a first printing.

Looks like you have two 1st printings then.

Yeah there's definitely still back stock out there of the first core sets. Bought one from a Barnes & Noble late last year that didn't have the Disney logo

If it hadn't been for your call to FFG I would still be doubting it, because the game was exploding in popularity so much that it surprised even them, and I wouldn't have expected there to be so many first edition copies of the core set around.
