Rebel Paint Scheme

By Belphegor07, in Star Wars: Legion

How are people planning to paint up their Rebels?

I quite like the blue style they went with in a map on battlefront 7944a627248536036a47c6602b4a9d2b--star-w

I really like the look of sergeant Melshi from rogue one. I am going to try to emulate his look for my rebels

Some one should start a rebel reference thread

but what then if they bring the Rogue 1 squad out?

Well I won't do it identical. But I do like the color combo

So what?

Then others will be wearing a similar uniform...which is the whole point of a uniform...

I just mean if u paint as the Rogue 1 squad...the they release the R1 squad, it will be two units looking the same....would make the R1 units when released feel less unique. IMO

Given rogue one happend a literal race across the galaxy before new hope, why is that even an issue?

Its not a huge issue, just cosmetics. If they release rogue 1 units, I myself will like them to look like the Rogue 1 squad, not like all the others in the starter box....again personal choice.

The models will still be different. It's pretty common for wargamers to paint their army in a consistent fashion so they can tell which models are theirs. So totally normal.

I think you just volunteered.

The rebels use a miss mash of tech, I think it is fair to say they might have some people using different uniforms if you want to do variants.

Granted my gf is in charge of painting the rebels, an I'm in charge of the Imps, we're choosing our colors based off of terrain. For us, army cohesion is the number one goal. So whether its R1, ANH, or which ever rebel unit, the color scheme will remain the same. And since our main board is an urban complex in a volcanic landscape, out pallet is blue, teal, gray, white and black.

The only possible changes will be if they release climate themed figures. Like rebels in cold weather gear/ snowtroopers. To be honest, im now curious if theyll do that. And if so, will these varients have stat differences? Now my mind is getting lost on those questions.

Other games have done things like make "Hoth Troopers" and "Snowtroopers" also be veteran units when it came to the numbers...

Kind of a tough call, climate equipped models look cool, but re-releasing essentially the same thing just with a different look might not go over well, especially with the already prickly reception Legion had regarding incompatibility with IA's scale.

I hope Hoth and other "specific weather" units are saved for further down the line when we are all bored :P

Also I really hope we see the white helmet and black vest rebel troopers long before hoth troopers

I remember seeing this costume in the book. What map is it on?

I'm going to be copying the look of the Rebels from Scarif in Rogue One.

Slate grey/blue and browns.

@Felswrath i believe it was either the cloud city or death star maps

That would explain it. I have neither.

Troopers from Last Jedi (and a cool easter egg if you know who the actors are)

George Lucas used a lot of historical references especially WW2 to create the Star Wars Universe. Many of the weapons are modified rifles and pistols from the 1940s-1960s. So I plan on keeping the figures along the lines of Rogue One but use U.S. WW2 paint colors to include olive drab, khaki, and leather. Possibly even British Paratroopers with their camo smocks.

I am probably going to go with the box art rebels. (Maybe it is just because a professional painted it but the brown rebels color scheme looks good.)

So long as I get twi-leks, ithorians, Wookiees and droids I’ll be a happy bunny
