Give me three reasons double GUNBOATs aren't viable
None. Triple gunboats seems good too.
youre running both named pilots.
Theyre doable in a regular list on their own but a tad expensive to bring both.
Running one named pilot and generics is another question though.
Triple k-wings work too.

I don't know, I actually think they're pretty good and want to use Rho squad in epic play. Vynder will make it into some 100 point lists of mine for sure.

Ugh! Every time we play, I always get the Old Maid, and then people always seem to know exactly which card it is! They'll consider taking every other card I have, but not the Old Maid!
tldr: Old Maid op plz nerf
The only major weakness I see is one shared by other good chassis like Defenders- is that they are arc-bound. While I think the low PS generics are good, they aren't Contracted Scouts, Scurrgs, Ks, or Aggressors- which all have turrets. I think running generics in any number will really leave you vulnerable to arc-dodgers. In my mind the only generics that can compete are those with turrets because they can still be useful/a threat when they're out of arc.
They'll be decent, but I don't think that triple Rho or quad Nu are going to suddenly start ruling tables. Like honestly, what is the plan if you tee off against the Kyloceptor, or Whisper, Vader, Nym, Fenn, etc? I forsee many rounds where you have nothing to shoot at because you got out PSd and arc-dodged.
I honestly think PS9 Vynder with Harpoons/ASlam is going to be the star of the expansion. ASlam at PS9 is crazy good.

Maybe one of the ways the game could be rebalanced would be to change the point limit from a 100 to 125. That way we can run even more! Can you imagine 5 Gunboats? It's the tabletop equivalent of a wet dream.

But 2, one generic and one named seems like the sweet spot with a third ship to flavor.

4 Starwings to go win every x-wing championship until the end of time starting the day they release and it's a fact because noone will ever play anything but gunboat's ever again at that point and numbers don't lie except evade dice odds those do lie and my non-gunboat is now exploded i wish i had flown a gunboat is all youll be saying without 4.

1.) Arc bound (who would've thought that the STANDARD FEATURE of most ships would be a detriment? ******* turrets)
2.) No guaranteed defenses
3.) No guaranteed damage
But w.e. bottom line, it's fun and not worthless so it'll be worth playing
Not overly concerned about lack of K because no one kturns anymore. Fair ship rebels Low can't k, Miranda can't k, Nym almost never T-rolls, dash never Ks...only Dengar bothers with his white segnors
Just slow roll on up with a crackshot HLC LRS alpha strike and nuke them. No need to worry about jousting because that almost never happens any more
