Am I right that Lt. Karsabis ability dosn't work well with Advanced SLAM?

When I want to use Lt. Ks Ability I already have a stress token when Adv. SLAM would be triggered and as he is stressed then he couldn't performe a free Action.

Correct. You get the Weapons Disabled token as part of the SLAM action, and have to make the choice to take the stress as soon as you receive it. You're stressed before the SLAM action is completed, so you can't use ASLAM.
This is the saddest thing I've read all day =(

Nah, it just means he frees up his Modification slot for something else!
Give him chips and wired! Don't bother with slamming, just keep reloading and shooting the non-target lock-eating missiles.
And doing very little damage because he can't ever mod his shots beyond Chips.
Karsabi xu1 is the cannon elite. give him ept mods and linked batteries so slamming doesn't prevent modded primary cannon fire
Vynder is the os1 elite, using the title to slam, still fire missiles and get extra defense for doing it
Edited by RalgonKarsabi probably wants HLC and Linked.
He is made for Wired. You'll basically always be stressed in the combat phase so rerolls on all your focus results, attack or defence, will do wonders. Plus it saves points for other things as it's only 1.
My build (with two OS-1 Rhos) would be HLC, Linked, Wired, LRS, X title. If you use his ability every turn, he's firing the HLC with 1 reroll for a blank and ALL the rerolls for focuses.
You could maybe swap Linked for Flechette if you don't want to always be taking that stress.
Is it wrong to look at this as resolving in this order?
Since you get your disabled token at the completion of the SLAM action, it doesn't seem like there should be anything suggesting that the timing for Karsabi's ability comes before Adv SLAM.
No. Gaining the wd token happens during the SLAM action, strictly before the trigger point for ptl.
Yes, you gain the wd token during the SLAM, specifically as the last step of the SLAM. Simply put, the SLAM is completed when you receive the token. I suppose the question is: is Lt. Karsabi's pilot ability an extension of SLAM or a separate effect triggered by the token acquired at the end of a SLAM?

The former. His ability doesn't happen after the SLAM it happens during it, when you get the token.

Agreed. If he can establish an initial lock, pegging a target with homing missiles every turn with Wired rerolls until it dies is impressive - of course, keeping a target in arc whilst stuck with a gunboat's green moves isn't too easy - unless the missiles in question are Ion Pulse Missiles. ![]()
Pair with Vynder armed with linked batteries and a Flechette cannon for maximum trollface.
