Lambda Target Lock Question

By JJ48, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly. Suppose I had the following upgrades on a Lambda shuttle:

latest?cb=20130708224745latest?cb=20141210104630latest?cb=20130806083540

Am I correct in thinking that after I make an attack, I can gain a Target Lock on the defender as well as an additional Target Lock on any enemy ship in the play area? (If that is not correct, please elaborate as to why.)

Yes that works how you think it works. Attack ship A, acquire lock on Ship A and Ship B and B is anywhere in the play area.

It works.

Yep, let the fun begin. :D

Lot of points for something that can't turn well though!

Correct.

Indeed. If you can stretch the points, Colonel Jendon is not a bad pairing, though, as you can then 'hand off' the lock to someone who can.

in the long run, Systems Officer and/or Targeting Synchroniser on a newer ship, or Long Range Scanners, is probably a better call.

Thanks everyone for the prompt answers!

Yeah, my thought was using Colonel Jendon to acquire Target Locks to pass to two OS-1 Starwings, who will already be using their Modification slots. It probably won't be the most efficient list, but it should be pretty fun to fly.

Relegating Missile Boats to escort duty probably wasn't what their engineers had in mind, but I've been meaning to try the Lambda for a while, and this setup sounds interesting, to say the least!

While Jendon is not the wisest choice in standard games, in epic he and a couple of ordnance buddies can slow play the first round or two and then those alpha-strikers can turn into the fray knowing they will have target lock and focus ready when they unload their ordnance. Once Jendon gets into range of the enemy big guns though he is toast so early positioning is key.
