Wed 600 Vs 600

So this wednesday playing a 600 vs 600 point game again.

Myself and a friend are playing rebels verses a newer player who has access to a ton of imperial gear (2 of every ship)

Looks like fun! I like the higher point games. It makes it feel more like a fleet battle, not just a skirmish. I've also got a large game planned for Wednesday. Depending on how many people end up showing up, it could end up being a 1200 vs 1200 match. (4 people with 600 point fleets.) I'm looking forward to the battle report.

Oh so jealous! We want to organise a 3v3 AOA styled battle with 500 points each, potentially more, but the two other rebel players have not shown up in the last 2 weeks despite usually never missing a week.

Ok, so i agreed to do a battle report on the 600 Vs 600 battle i had yesterday, i have no writing skills at all so ill just write what happened haha, here it is, deployment and round 1. ^_^

(Imp fleet and rebel fleet above)

The rebel fleet commanded by General Dodonna onboard the MC80 Home One Assault Cruiser jumped out of hyperspace into system 13A-145C infront of the systems Station orbited by two adjecent debri fields.

A bridge crewmember brings the Generals attention to the far right of the station where hidden behind a asteroid field the ships advanced scanning system can detect a Imperial Raider-1 class corvette, seeming waiting for something...

Suddenly on the complete opposite side of the station a Imperial 2 Star Destroyer, the Avenger currently commanded by Admiral Sloane based on rebel intelligence, emerges out of hyperspace, its distinctive shape leaving no doubt to its class even at this distance.

Worried and surprised at the ambush, General Dodonna commands the rest of his fleet to merge on his position and drop out of hyperspace on his right flank. As the fleet moves to obey his order, the general orders that his fighters prep for launch and commands the A Wing squadrons to deploy to the north-west of Home One supported by Rogue squadron, while the remaining fighters deploy on the right flank of Home One. The general is suspicious however when a mere 2 squadrons deploy from the gaping hangar of the Imp star, though his suspicions are soon proven to be true when the Sensor officer informs him that the squadrons markings match those of the imperial ace pilots Howlrunner and "Mauler" Mithell.

Finally, the MC80 Mon Karren Battle cruiser and its escorting MC80 Liberty drop out of hyperspace on the Home Ones right flank as opposite them a Quasar-Fire class carrier-cruiser and a second Raider 1 class corvette deploy facing towards the rebel fleet on either side of the Imperial Star Destroyer.

Finally having deployed all fighters, The general recieves his answer to what the Raider was doing at this seemingly random system, its a Trap! (Hahaha had to, even if its the wrong admiral its the right ship)

Having stood silently on either side of the station for long enough, the ship caiptain of the second raider raipidly closes towards the front of the Liberty, pushing its engines to full power.

(Raider 1 (1): speed 4, nav token)

Seeing an opportunity to force the Imp star into a trap of his own. Dodonna commands the Home one, his flagship, forward towards the station at full speed, slightly angling to port so as to get a good angle from his strong broadside and commanding the engine teams to be ready to decrease speed, but not just yet.

(Home one: speed 2, nav token)

The first raider finally emerges from behind the asteroid field, also running full power and engages on a obvious flanking manouver towards the starboard side of the Liberty.

(Raider 1 (2): speed 4, nav token)

Recieving its orders from the General, the Escorting Liberty engages 2/3 engine power and moves forward, angling slightly starboard so as to catch both raiders in its front arc, its engine teams also told to be ready to decrease speed on command.

(Unnamed MC80L: speed 2, nav token)

Finally the Imperial star destroyer moves at 2/3 power, more than halving its distance from the station and angling its front arc towards the Home One, General Dodonna cant help but feel anxious but knowing that the only chance he has is to stick with the battle plan and hope the imp star's captain falls into the trap.

(Avenger Imp Star: speed 2, squad token)

Seeing the Imperial star destroyer fall so neatly into the trap, Dodonna nearly sags with relief, commanding Mon Karren to move forward into firing range of the Imp Stars side arc while keeping out of firing arc of its front, engaging its engines to 2/3 power and prepping its engine crews to reduce speed.

(Mon Karren: speed 2, Nav token)

Seeing its biggest threats moving to engage avenger, the Quasar slowly and cautiously moves to hide behind the imp star, potentially preparing to deploy squadrons from its enormous hangar bays

(Quasar: speed 1, squad token)

Hah! Well I'm a sucker for narrative bat reps, so that's my 2 cents. If doing the whole thing is too much, I understand, but at least let us know who wins and loses, what lives and what ends up in the scrap heap.

Round 2

still careening ahead at full speed, the second raider sends a concentrated ion cannon salvo from its front arc towards the Liberty with minimal effect, barely reducing its immense frontal shielding before with some fancy manouvering slotting itself between Mon Karren and its escort Liberty.

(Raider 1 (2): speed 4, nav token, CF command spent)

Observing the now vulnerable positioning of the raider, Mon Karren reduces its speed and commands two YT-1300 squadrons nearby to take out the raiders side shields, which is done to great effect to the unfortunate raider captains dismay. Carefully judging the shot, Mon Karren opens fire at point blank range from its front arc into the unshielded side and the second raider goes down in flames.

Still continuing its rampage across the imperial fleet, Mon Karrens gunnery team lines up a side shot on the ISD's side arc within ion cannon range. Once more adjusting the cannons, Mon Karren releases a concentrated full salvo, removing all side shields and doing critical damage to the Star Destroyer, disengaging its fire control before Mon Karren finally closes in at 1/3 full speed.

(Mon Karren: speed 1, CF spent, destroyed raider 1 (2), deals 4 damage cards to Imp Star including 1 face up Disengaged Fire Control)

While the crew of the Imp star struggles to regain control and repair crucial systems, the first raider captain senses his opportunity to avoid the fate of his comrade, keeps steaming straight and avoids the escorting Liberties front arc, flanking the ship to the right.

(Raider 1 (1): speed 4, nav token, nav command spent)

General Dodonna, onboard Home One, knows its time for the trap to spring shut and so sends a concentrated turbolaser salvo enhanced by the Home Ones modified broadsides, stripping the ISD of its frontal shielding but dealing no hull damage. Then to avoid return fire the General orders Home One to hide behind the station, reducing speed to 1/2 max.

(Home One: speed 1, no tokens, CF spent)

The Imp Star under command of Admiral sloane, sensing impending destruction deploys all stored fighters into battle, destroying 1 Xwing squadron and dealing damage to a single YT-1300 under the combine firepower of squadrons Dengar, Vader, tempest and Saber. Focusing back onto the ship battle, repair crews finally reengage fire control, allowing for the targeting of Home one through the obstruction of the station. Opening fire with ion and turbolaser batteries, though some shots were obscured by the station, dealing major damage to Home One despite its advanced projectors and electronic countermeasures, removing its port arc shields and reducing its front arc shields by 1/4. Then firing its weaker side arc batteries at Mon Karren, it reduces Mon Karrens frontal shielding to 2 before, Having no way to slow down the imp star rams the side of Home One, dealing hull damage to both ships.

(avenger: speed 2, 6 hull remaining, Repair command spent, squad token spent)

(Imp star and squadrons had some bad rolls this round and yes, for you sharp eyed readers, despite activating off a token we all goofed and let Cam, the imp player, activate 4 of the squadrons he deployed with RLB, oh well)

The escort liberty, now out of shooting range of the imp star, commands two e wings to attack the first raiders side, hoping to replicate Mon Karrens earlier success, however as the Ewings approached the target ones targeting array disengaged, leading to the raider still having half shield strength. Aiming the side arc turbolaser and ion cannon batteries, the Liberty opens fire, however the raider manages to evade and only suffers a small amount of hull damage. Having no other targets, the Liberty moves forward and slightly starboard, allowing it to continue targeting the raider.

(Unnamed Liberty: speed 1, Sqd command spent, nav token spent)

Seeing the decimation of the imperial fleets flagship and the destruction of the raider, the quasars captain decides to deploy its fighters, taking out a A wing squadron before taking a sharp port turn.

(Quasar: speed 1, sqd token spend, sqd command spent)

Squadrons: YT-1300's and imperial forces clash, one Ewing squadron does hull damage to the raider. (1 facedown card, the raider has 2 hull remaining)

I will expand on the ISD since it was a bit shorter ^

So the mon karren super mc80 shot at the imp stars side arc.... at blue range....... with the title...... and intel officer....... and X17s....... and an accuracy from Home 1 on the only red dice that missed.

It came down to " you cant crit contain, you brace and you lose it, you may only redirect i damage onto another arc oh and you may only ise 1 defense token."

With 3 big ships looming around it, Cam decided he didnt want to remove his brace and so took 4 shield damage (1 on the rear, 3 to the side) then 3 face down damage cards and a face up chosen by us.

Seeing how the mc80 would be obstructed in a activation we chose the disengaged fire control that makes it so you may not attack targets that are obstructed.

Expanding on the imp star shooting the H1 tank.

Poor roll, lots of accuracies and only 6 damage.

ECM the redirect, then AP'ed it around the ship.

If it wasnt for the poor roll the MC80H1 would of been in much worse shape

Hey everyone I've been super busy and will be for the next week, so I'll just let you all know what happened (sorry ta keep y'all hanging.....)

Rebel victory

rebel losses: 1xA wing, 2x YT1300, 3x Xwings

imp losses: 2xRaiders, 1x quasar, 1x imp star (no squadrons died but all ships lost)

turn finished: 5

imp star dies round 3, first raider round 4, quasar round 5

Also in either 1-2 weeks, i will be taking part in a 1000vs1000 point game, 2 players a side.

Rules:

each side has 2 players,

each player controls a 500pt fleet with no more than 150pts of squadrons and 1 admiral

Admiral effects only apply to the fleet they are attached to, ignoring Dodonna for obvious reasons.

Fleet effects such as STM only apply for the fleet they are included in.

Ship-to-ship effects, for example the ahsoka tano officer, work with any friendly ship.

Squadron effects, such as dengar, howlrunner, Jan ors,etc work with any friendly squadron.

I wont be writing a creative battle report or anything like that, but i will post a round by round batrep. Maybe i will record it, but thats unlikely.
