Anybody else proxied him yet? He seems really good so far. Qui-gon seems like the partner to use so far (for heroes) and daddy kylo seems pretty good to. Any other good lists. Am I the only one that thinks he is broken?
Ani Broken?
Kylo , Annie will be all the rage!
Edited by ozmodonI think he’s really good, but keep in mind, at that price range, he’s competing with Rey, FN-2199, and Unkar. I’m still very excited to see what combos work with him though!
As a side note, I think it’s also really funny that the only way to run Anakin+Ahsoka currently is with Ahsoka as the master and Anakin as the apprentice!

Powerful, yes. Broken? No. The fact you have to discard a card to use the ability balances it out. Sure, he’ll pair well with QGJ or Rey2 on hero side when you’ve got cards not worth keeping in your hand to trigger their abilities, but it’s still roll reliant, and requires a card discarded. The same is equally true in Villain format. Two damage, but you have to discard a card. Top it off, it cannot be a neutral card discarded, it has to be labeled Hero or Villain. Those cards aren’t typically ones you would want to pitch unless it’s going to defeat a character using the ability or prevent one of yours from being defeated.

This is exactly why I want to try him with Elite Luke. Luke's Draw ability usually means that I am more capable of sacrificing a card in my hand, further running Return of the Jedi means I can run a group of very specialized defenses (deflect, Misdirect) and chuck those cards for shields OR rerolls when oppropriate while still using Returns to get the 1 that I actually want back. if I pull the return to early I can just chuck it since it is a hero card.
yeah luke or quigon seem like good picks.
Quigon is what im going to try. Already got a list for it actually lol though i suspect it to change drastically once legacy cards are known

Well, after the nerfs none of those are very good anymore. FN is probably still good, but he is not even the same point cost, so ani will probably be the new 10/13 character for villians at least.

Yeah, funny how that worked out! There’s been a lot of news lately! Anyway, yeah, he’s good, but his special isn’t great. I think he’s probably a little better than Kylo or Rey, but I’m not sure yet. I think I’ll have to play with him to be able to tell.

I think I complained in another thread about him being too good. Everyone pretty much said the draft characters were trash. I will say however, whenever a character is cheaply cost it can be easily abused. New Phasma is a good example of a character on her own is okay but her cheap price made her way too good outside a vacuum. I am concerned he is too cheap and being neutral, can fit into far too many places for there not to be a broken combo somewhere.

I can name one off the bat. Emo Kids version 2. Elite 2P Kylo with elite Anakin Skywalker. 30 points of mono blue that will hit like a truck. Also mentioned was elite QGJ with elite Anakin, who can shield feed QGJ for days. Elite 2P Rey with a plot card could also be deadly with him.
I like to compare characters within the same price point. So Anakin vs Old Kylo, they share 4 sides exactly (2 for a resource, shield, resource, and blank) they both have a special that for villains do damage one gives you info about your opponents hand while dealing damage and is dependent on the enemy deck, the other deals damage IF and only if you have a Villain card left in your hand to discard and is more reliable when you can pull it off. Anakin gets a 2 damage side while Kylo only gets a 1, BUT Kylo also has 1 more health then Anakin, all-in-all I think its pretty fair.
Anakin vs Kanan on the hero side of things. They share 3 sides (2 melee, Resource and blank) have the same health, Kanan gains a 1 range for the 2 damage for a resource (I consider this about equal as the difference is 1 damage for 1 resource which some people don't consider "worth") gains a Focus for Anakin's special and trades the Shield for a disrupt all while Also gaining an ability that makes Kanan more action efficient and allows him to do some crazy things with his focus side, all-in-all I would ALSO consider this to be pretty even.
So ultimately I think Anakin may be strong or in higher consideration than the other two more for his synergy with the teams that taken him rather than him simply being straight over costed. Kylo will be better in a META that likes High cost cards, Kanan will be better in any deck that abuses his sides with cards from hand or the ability to focus into a side that you want, (I am thinking stuff like Ahsoka or some other 17 point combination with 3 characters that really makes his ability shine.)

This is true, but ani is better then both because he deals damage more consistently high. This is why baby vader is so good. Alot of his sides cost him something, but because they are there, it makes him good. So that two for a cost is better then that single damage on Kanan, and the special is (depending on the meta) usually gonna be better then Kylo's, cause it's never just going to be nothing, or a one.

Yeah, the new Emo's is going to be scary.

I don't think he is better then both, and Baby Vader is good no doubt, but he hasn't pushed out other fairly costed 17 point characters, even thawn who does no damage still finds his way in. I am just saying that Kylo vs Anakin ISNT that clear cut and more depends on the META you are facing, while Kanan vs Anakin depends entirely on the type of deck you are going for as any deck that doesn't want to have to save resources for Anakins pay side + wants to do Focus Force Misdirect or other shinanigans as well as not particularly caring about shield sides will prefer Kanan and will take him over Anakin.
Edit: lets do the other check, if he is too strong at 10/13 lets make him 11/14, now he competes with New Luke on Hero side, and with 7th Sister on Villain Side. 7th sister at that point cost gets 3 dice basically, though she is a legendary so this may help out a little on villains, New Luke I think not only competes with what Anakin is trying to do, but I think he blows him out of the water in the 11/14 point slot because again more health and that power action means that if you have the resources new Luke will HURT.
eRey (Awakenings) / Padawan / Anakin?? 30pts/27health/4dice?

Ya I prefer E Kanan/ Rey/ Padawan same points health and number of dice, but I like 2 dice on Kanan in this kind of list rather then 1 dice on Anakin and 1 dice on Rey. It also ends up being pretty faster for a 3 character deck thanks to Rey and Kanan action efficiency.
Yeah I believe that's better. But I have zero Kanan cards/dice Mine is the budget version...

I feel like Rey and Padawan will both compete for upgrades, and Rey will likely be the one you put the upgrades on the most to action cheat. Why not replace the Padawan with a Hired Gun and have access to yellow. Electroshock, unpredictable and running interference are all excellent.

Rey action cheats, padawan resource cheats. Which is better is situational.
You're absolutely right. My feeling is that having three blue characters is not as advantageous. Whereas other colors like red clearly has cards to do more with multiple reds. Padawan definitely has her place. So I see the benefit both sides and agree with you there.
I also prefer Padawan not only for the situationally cheaper upgrades, but also the reliable melee sides which helps getting Rey's +2's online.
Just checked her die, and yep she has three melee sides to synergize with mod melee sides. Great point.
