At some point, many of us will be in a position to consider a vote for a new element at one of these Kotei events. But, how does one go about considering what would be best for a clan?

I can see that the Keeper and Seeker choices have their own warranted decisions based on the cards available for the clan. At the moment it seems as though Keeper is the leaning Role choice (swaying a bit now based on cards becoming available to us soon), but the element decisions?

Do you choose an element that is a less favorable one in hopes that your opponents will be throwing a challenge here or there at it just trying to grab an extra fate on the table, like Earth or Void? In this approach you are hoping to gain a fate yourself defending it throughout the game. Or are there other elemental considerations? Because choosing the one you want with your clan seems to be somewhat counter intuitive to choose for gaining fate. It is only more helpful in getting your Keeper Initiates out while accomplishing your goal.

Just trying to get some insight on people's thoughts for elemental choices when they have the opportunity to vote...or in general.

Well, Seeker is entwined with the element. it is all well and good that they have spoiled the Seeker and Keeper cards from imperial, but I think they really need to reveal the Provinces from imperial so the people making the choice have the needed information available

I favor Seeker of Earth for crab for this reason. I think crab has the best capability to use the 2 earth provinces (entrenched position and ancestral lands) we know about, but we don't know about all options in the first cycle.

They do so little, that I'd pretty much just vote on the unique cards available and choose the roles that allows the best card.

I just noticed that the role-locked Conflict cards are also splashable! Hm...
