What are today’s best brobot lists?

By BlodVargarna, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Looking to try brobots soon. What’s a good list for today’s meta?

I only have experience playing against Brobots. Never have flown them so I’m really interested in some suggestions please.

The asymmetrical

Aggressor: · IG-88B (36)
Push The Limit (3)
Ion Cannon (3)
Seismic Charges (2)
Fire Control System (2)
Autothrusters (2)
IG-2000 (0)
Glitterstim (2)
Aggressor: · IG-88C (36)
Push The Limit (3)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Fire Control System (2)
Autothrusters (2)
IG-2000 (0)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

And the symmetrical

Aggressor: · IG-88B (36)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Fire Control System (2)
Autothrusters (2)
IG-2000 (0)
Glitterstim (2)
Aggressor: · IG-88D (36)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Fire Control System (2)
Autothrusters (2)
IG-2000 (0)
Glitterstim (2)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

I really want to try this out, but I don't have C-ROC:

IG-88B (Attanni Mindlink, Fire Control System, Flechette Cannon, IG-2000, Autothrusters)

IG-88C (Attanni Mindlink, Fire Control System, Flechette Cannon, IG-2000, Autothrusters)

Inaldra (Attanni Mindlink, Light Scyk)

Having a 3rd ship there to take focus actions allows both the IGs free on their actions and S-Loops. Flechette is mostly there as a backup attack if the primary misses.

I understand @jesper_h has had some success with the list detailed below:

The two "classic" brobot archetypes are as follows:

1. PTL + Advanced Sensors + Autothrusters (two Manglers, or Mangler + HLC)
2. VI/Crack Shot + Fire Control + Glitterstim + Autothrusters (two HLC)

Both have their merits and fly very differently from each other. First relies on longer engagements, baiting, switching and positional advantage. Second relies on expertly controlling and delivering a devastating first engagement. There are a few outlier variants that substitute in upgrades like Attani Mindlink, Hotshot Blaster, Expertise, etc... but those are the two basic ones.

For the last three/four months I've been developing and flying a "control" variant with a good success. It's a little more unforgiving to play since it has such low damage output and relies so much on timing, tempo and trapping. But it's very satisfying when done right and has the tools for any matchup.

IG-88B (49)
PTL, Advanced Sensors, Autothrusters, IG-2000
Ion Cannon, Tractor Beam, Rigged Cargo Chute

IG-88C (51)
PTL, Advanced Sensors, Autothrusters, IG-2000
Ion Cannon, Tractor Beam, Ion Bomb, Rigged Cargo Chute

I've also flown it without the Tractor Beams, adding Ion Bomb on both (as @theBitterFig quoted), but I think I prefer this one more lately due to the recent appearance of Nym in the meta.
