What are people playing? Enquiring minds want to know.

If I could ever stop playing Imperials, I would 100% run double ghosts right now.

Per the OP, Ive been running Soontir Fel with the two named SFs in slightly different variations. It's fun and can handle anything.

This is something else I'm gonna have to try. Haven't played my SF Ties yet. Everytime I put a list together and include them I end up scrapping it because I don't have Fire Control System. I just can't help but feel that they're going to play so much better when I do. Maybe it's time I pulled the trigger on that.

People run B-Wings worth less than 80 points?!

Believe me, When he finally has the upgrade cards necessary to do it... he probably will.

Personally, I felt that 19 points for a Heavy Laser Cannon and two Advance Proton Torpedoes was just too many points when he was already going to be rolling four dice most of the time with the cannon. I'm going to have to pick him up two K Wings. At least that way he'll have Extra Munitions and Plasma Torpedoes. That should shave quite a bit of points of his build.

Could you possibly get away with Recon Spec/Jan Ors on your Wullffwarro/Predator build? There's a lot of flexibility on your choice of tokens to take.

Although personally, I've flown the PTL/Kanan/Kyle version before and really like it. It really suits my style of flying.

While I do like the Jan/Recon Spec trick on other ships, here it doesn't work out too well in my mind because I looking at doing a focus action or Reinforce. The beauty of both builds I'm testing is that i can kind of do both.

With you experience with the PTL version, have you run it with just crew or have you added a mod?

I've run it with either Targeting Computer for additional dice mods, (which felt redundant) but Engine Upgrade was more useful to me.

Okay. I was actually wondering if Targeting Computer was the better option, but having the reposition action has been super helpful. I have toyed with using Engine upgrade over Vectored Thrusters. I may have to investigate that further.

Dude, you gots to get some Fire Control.

My favourite list right now is 2x Delta Defenders [Ion Cannon, TIE/D] and 1x Delta Defender [Tractor Beam, TIE/D, Hull Upgrade]. That said, I've been playing around with 4x Quadjumpers and Quinn Jast (to very poor results :P), and am looking forward to 4x Zeta TIE/sf [Collision Detector, Title, Lightweight Frame]. I feel like the 4x TIE/sf's will be similar to 4x T-70's, but hopefully slightly better (and at the very least, 100% more Imperial :D).

I'm just trying to work out if Kanan is better with Dorsal & Rey, or TLT and an empty crew slot.

3 tansari point vets with heavy syck title mangler cannon attanni mindlink and serissu decked out the same. These little guys are so much fun to fly and pack a major punch! They do pop pretty quickly though

Why dorsal not ABT?

Flew Rexler, tomax, and an ion delta last time I flew. I had Been wanting to break the imperials out since I hadn't flown them in awhile. I really like x/7 intensity Rexler. It worked a lot better than I expected. Also having tomax there to pull target priority meant Rexler often spent his evade token to flip intensity at the end of the round.

Next up is scum, because I've flown them a total of once. Been looking into some suggestions with Boba and Fenn Rau. Would also like to squeeze in a hwk if possible.

I've got 30+ lists to play before I can say that I've tried most of the combos I can come up with (with the ships I own).

I've been experimenting with 4 ship rebel builds but building them with firepower in mind rather than mitigating damage taken.

Lothal Rebel- FCS, Hera, Chopper

Captain Rex

Jess Pava- R2-D6, Integrated Astromech, and Trick shot

Leaves me 22 points. I have been playing around with a Rookie X-wing and a 1 point integrated astromech, a naked B-wing, a Green Squadron A-wing of various builds and even Ahsoka. It's a lot of fun.

Quickdraw - outmanuever, fcs, lwf, title, sensor cluster

Backdraft - VI, fcs, lwf, title

Double Edge - predator, tlt, lwf

Had Lt. kestal in place of double edge and no sensor cluster on quickdraw for last tournament and did decently. Going to be trying this instead. Loving the sf tie. My favorite ship.

How about Kath w/ Boba crew, Fenn & Palob w/title+opportunist? Boba is nice, but Kath has more teeth. Fenn should try and stay out of it until mid to late game to clean up if Nym is around. Palob's a jerk. Gotta love him.

Hmmm... not much room there points-wise if you use all named pilots. :(

Palob Godalhi (20)
Opportunist (4)
Dorsal Turret (3)
Moldy Crow (3)

Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Boba Fett (1)

Fenn Rau (28)
Autothrusters (2)
Concord Dawn Protector (1)

Just much more area coverage and with FCS and multi-focus I can push the dice the right way. I like Dorsal in a meta with not many green dice... unspectacular but it does a shift.

Looks fun, but I don't own boba crew...

ive also been kicking around maybe dropping the fire spray for a starviper, so it would be hwk, starviper, protectorate. That sounds a little more doable on points.

Just proxy until Thursday on that StarViper build!

Lately we've been flying X-Wing with IA and an R2 astromech against TIE Fighters. Even changed it to to a couple of TIE Interceptors and TIE Advanced. Also all kinds of missions with Wings of Glory :o, and some board games.

I'm playing Epic every chance I get and HotAC reasonably often.

For regular 100 point game, a little of everything. Last tournament i went to at my lgs i flew fenn with 2 ion y wings holding proton torps. Did decent, despite a few flying mistakes here and there.

For just fun games, I haven't gotten nearly as many games as i would like lately (or ever) but always looking to run a shadow caster or fire spray in scum (and very happy for g4h coming out as i always have fun with Talonbane), sf or striker in imp, and a bit at a loss with rebels right now.

Running this list for tonight's casual games:

Bohdi Rook — U-Wing 25
Sensor Jammer 4
C-3PO 3
Lando Calrissian 3
Pivot Wing 0
Ship Total: 35
Shara Bey — ARC-170 28
Trick Shot 0
Weapons Engineer 3
R5-K6 2
Alliance Overhaul 0
Ship Total: 33
Lowhhrick — Auzituck Gunship 28
Trick Shot 0
Breach Specialist 1
Nien Nunb 1
Vectored Thrusters 2
Ship Total: 32

I love this! Nice to see somebody playing Interceptors. There a little fragile compared to so many of the newer ships, but I don't feel they are completely antiquated just yet. Personally, I'd like to see you expand on this a little bit and tell us how you did.

"The dark side is strong in me, for I am Sith."

(Triple Interceptors against BB-8 Poe, Rage/PtL Tycho, and R2-D2 Biggs)

The asteroids were arranged in a five-spoked wheel in the centre of the board. I deployed my ships on my right in an echeloned line astern facing left, banked them in toward the rocks, and barrel-rolled them right. We agreed this looked cool.

https://youtu.be/hqgphpiO0L8?t=34

He deployed in the centre facing the asteroids and came toward them at high speed. I planned to sidestep right and come in through the right-hand side of the wheel on his flank, but because of misjudgements in my prior (re-)positioning, I had to perform suboptimal maneuvers. He also somehow predicted I would do this and turned his ships toward me. Carnor had to go straight and entered the asteroid field from the bottom.

Fel followed his XO up the right side of the board, taken in flank by the Rebels. However, Poe landed on a rock and Phennir was able to boost out of Tycho's arc with his ability. The two 181st commanders were able to slag Biggs. Phennir gunned it to the opposite side of the board with a five-K and came face-to-face with a pursuing Tycho. Carnor had now exited the asteroids and looped around them to approach from the left. And Fel moved up from the bottom to surround the two Rebels. Phennir did his last damage, then crumpled under Tycho's wrathful blows, unable to escape by barrel-rolling. But the squints were able to reduce Poe to scrap.

In the ensuing chase Tycho was able to squirrel around and get behind the Interceptors briefly and brought Carnor to one hull. But the mad A-wing jockey was run down as he re-entered the asteroids and destroyed. A victory for the Galactic Empire.

My opponent and I aren't perfect players. In fact, if he hadn't reminded me of factors in my favour a couple times, I would have made different decisions that might have been worse. As it stands, I got Carnor isolated from the fight and the other two into positions where it was difficult to arc-dodge and impossible to disengage. I'm not too sure how they managed to survive that. Poe landing on the rock was huge. I felt that Targeting Computer was also quite helpful. Hull Upgrade on Turr Phennir was not, in the event, useful. While I had attempted an outflanking maneuver, I ended up in plunge-ahead battle more suited to jousters. I think I prevailed because of dice mods, three agility dice, and Poe landing on the rock.

As an addendum, today I played the same opponent with:

"Whisper" (32)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Tactician (2)
Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

"Pure Sabacc" (22)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Adaptive Ailerons (0)

Alpha Squadron Pilot (18)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Total: 99

I threw this together to use the Imperial ships I hadn't used yesterday! He ran VI/PtL, /x7, SD Vessery and Ryad and Pure Sabacc as above. A dense, oblong asteroid configuration and our decisions to dive into it resulted in one of the worst traffic jams I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the asteroids and my own decisions channelled my ships into separate battles that they came off much the worse in. I think I gave him a fight that was challenging on the board, but I was only able to bring Ryad and Sabacc each to two hull before surrendering with but a TIE/fo left. However, we determined that my forces were illegitimate and my Striker pilot a clone known as Pure Sabaacc, so justice was served.

Yesterday as a fun game with the very young step son I flew:

Han Solo TFA
- Millenium Falcon Title TFA
- Expertise
- Kanan Jarrus
- Kyle Katarn
- Engine Upgrade

Wedge Antillies
- R2D2
- Push the Limit
- Vectored Thrusters

I beat him up pretty bad with it. I'm trying to show him the advantage of using upgrades and higher PS, but he still can't get past the idea of just throwing more naked low PS bodies on the table, thinking more = better. I think it got through after he saw me do the 3 bank with Han, use title to flip 180, use Kanan to shed the stress, Kyle to turn that stress into a focus token, and use my action to boost right behind his main ship into range 1. With Wedge I was barrel rolling out of arcs left and right, etc. I think he's starting to get the idea. He also needs to work on avoiding rocks, as he did get me several times in good arcs but did so while parked on rocks, so no good. I think I'll build him a list with what he's got next time and teach him what everything does.

And there was much rejoicing!

Thanks for taking the time to give us the full report. Looks like it was a pretty good game. My son loves Tycho. He hasn't tried PTL & Rage yet, and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the day he does.
