The thing is, and I am just going to throw this out there......... Major Championships won by Faction.

Worlds

2012 Empire

2013 Heaver

2014 Heaver

2015 Heaver

2016 Dengar

2016 Dengar

So Why then are they overcompensating for the Dominance of the Empire?

There I fixed it for you. :P

But if the game is balanced, then people would buy everything, then fly different competitive lists all they want. if you only ever need to by 3 toilet seats, why buy anything else?

Balance = More sales

Stagnate = less sales

Because now you wasted your money. You can fly at most one toilet seat effectively.

I own two... Seriously thinking about selling one to fund a wave 12/13 ship.

Good luck with that the market for Jump components is gonna be glutted to heck for the next few months.

So, you're still playing then?

Many people stopped playing after facing the NPE that was the toilet seat.

That you are going to continue buying ships going forward says that game balance keeps players playing and buying ships.

People that stopped playing and stopped buying ships proves that a stagnate game state stops sales.

It may be annoying that you spent money on a ship you are no longer going to use, but that's how countless people felt about MOST of the ships in the game. No one ever quit playing a game or (openly) complained that a game was fair for everyone. People HAVE quit because of unfair game play, and they DO complain that its not fair for everyone.

I don't mean "usable but will never win so not usable".

I mean literally impossible to use.

And of course I will still play. I enjoy the game so I'm not leaving over one bad investment. I DO plan to be a lot more careful in my acquisitions though... If I see something as "too good" unless there is a way to use it not "too good" I probably won't buy it because it'll become burned to the ground.

Another reason not to get carried away with "too good" stuff is because it tends to really suck for most other players.
