Dose anyone have any of these? Every time I see them I have an attack of nostalga. Was wondering what matireal is should get them in, and what if any tips there are? (Aside from the basic washing before everything else)
Mel's kotor hammerheads
I always opt for Frosted Ultra Detail. I haven't tried anything else myself but I've heard the White Strong and Flexible is fairly low quality detail wise and the High Def Acrylate requires an extensive amount of sanding to get rid of tiny little bumps from the manufacturing process. @melminiatures can give you better info if you need it. Other than needing a more thorough cleaning Mel's ships are not any more difficult to paint than any of the FFG ships.

Thanks @megatronrex, I know 3d prints can be tricky some times. Hopefully we'll hear from @melminiatures . On his take on the subject. I would like to avoid extra sanding if at all possible.
I have one in Black Hi-Def Acrylate. I love it and the material is less brittle than the FUD.

How much difficulty is there in prepping it to paint? I've been tempted to try it may do that next time I order stuff. Being less brittle would be a definite plus.
Mostly the same advice, I always get FUD, it is easy to paint after a good wash.
So is the black high def harder to prep for painting?
No, the material has a smoother surface than the FUD, but it preps just as easy. Detail is about 90-95% FUD, this wasn't an issue for me, as it turns 90 degree angles into tiny 90 degree curves, making it a little easier to prime & paint.
Theprint process seems to build a strut like structure inside the hollow ships, adding extra stability. Occasionally you get a .5 mm thick strut like bar connecting some external details that are within 3mm of each other, but they are very easy to clip off. The bottom of the model does tend to get little .5 mm bumps.
All that said, I find the durability to be worth it.

Thanks that makes the choice alot easier
Ive got 1 in WSF, and 2 in FUD. The FUD ones were so much better to paint and look so much better. Its worth the cost.
I'll try and get some pics of them side by side when I get home.

Thanks it would be appreciated I love the kotor republic asthetic
So I took some shots of my other KOTOR stuff I got off of mels. Everything is in FUD or FED execpt for the Hammerhead with the Foray on the same stand.
(Hopefully the link works)
EDIT: I'm also in the process of making cards and bases for them.

Hard part of being an Imp player is that its hard to accumulate enough stands that take the peg. Without buying 100 raider packs.
That is one awesome gallery, thanks for posting that!

And a Harrower-class Dreadnought.
Harrower is done, Centurion is next.

I saw it, very nice. It looks like a medium ship correct?

Harrower is ordered, and a C-ROC, and a Marauder. I think this officially makes you my #1 prack dealer.

I know you must receive a lot of wish lists like this, but I'd like to know if maybe some day you can make a Suuv Ban D'Krid or an A-vek Iiluunu to add a medium ship to the Yuuzhan Vong fleet I'm building (I'm already waiting for my Miid Ro'ik to arrive
)

Oooh cool. I'm getting a Harrower soon, and I'll get the Centurion as soon as it comes out. Also are you just going to do a complete one? Or are you going to do the Ravager as well?

Nice Looking Hammerheads and the Sith Interdictor looks good too. Just curious, is it easy or difficult access for painting the top and bottom between the the two main sections?
And for Mel, any plans on the Inexpungable-class for the Republic?

Thanks.
Its not hard, but its kinda fiddly getting in there with a brush.
Hehe that would be cool, but it would be huge.
EDIT: Actually it could probably be done at a similar size to mels Lucrehulk.
