Question about CSS-1 Star Shuttle models

By Bullox, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Does anyone know of any other options for CSS-1 Star Shuttle models? Shapeways has one that is 3.3 inches long which, if mounted on the Senator's Shuttle token from the OT core set, would be perfect for the Political Escort mission.
I think I would actually prefer a slightly larger model though - maybe in the 5 to 6 inch range. Are there any other options folks are aware of?

The papercraft one is about that long. 687474703a2f2f693137302e70686f746f627563

That looks pretty good. How sturdy is it?

It's got 6 hull, 6 shields and 2 agility.

Honestly, not that sturdy. I got about 2/3 through construction and made a couple of mistakes then got busy and put it on the shelf shelf. Parts got lost and flattened and I tossed it all it all while house cleaning. Now my goal is to try again in styrene and scale it up to proper1/270 size. We will see if that ever happens due to real life responsibilities. In 1/270 it would come it at 11 11/16" for those using the king's inches. Of course then you'd have to commit to 'true scale' CR-90s, GR, 75s etc. The Gorzanti and by extension the C-ROC are in the same scale as the regular ships I believe. Really, I should just not worry about it, but I've had a dream to scratch build a CR-90 for decades so the torture will continue I suppose.

Some of the shapeways models look good and aren't to expensive. That may be the quickest route to a model of the ship.

I purchased one from print to play on etsy...its 3d printed with an integral base the same size as the token.

Here is a link to it...the first image of a painted shuttle and colored base (using a whiteout pen, fine point red, green, and yellow sharpies, a metallic silver sharpie, then a black chisel tip sharpie for the base) is my work on a tabletop paintjob.

Reasons...

Does anyone know anything about this model posted by @Fanbus ? The links provided are broken.

I had made a diplomatic shuttle based on the Star Conmuter 2000 seen on Star Wars rebels, here is a link you can see it, this one is at scale, fits perfect on a big stand and belongs to the civil war era.

Hope it helps

I forgot to say I had made a cast of this shuttle, just in case you want a copy of it ?...

That looks good, great for a generic shuttle. I think I'm leaning towards getting the shapeways Senator Shuttle now and then just keeping my eyes and ears open.

I like the idea of the senator senator Shuttle, but I think there has to made some improvements on this mission, first one there has to be applied the epic conditions, this shuttle at Xwing scale 1/270 has twice the size of the millenium falcon, also an improvement of the actions (probably evasion an reinforcement should be nice..) as well as shielding & armor.

Now I’m preparing the Radian VII senatorial Shuttle (also with the combat retrofit configuration...)

las soon as I have more news I’ll keep you informed

If you're interested in the Political Escort mission that uses the CSS-1 Senator's Shuttle, there is a pretty long discussion in this thread:

I'm actually kinda tempted to paint one of my Rebel Transports in the Senator's shuttle colors which would be a lot closer to the proper size.

"One of my Revel Transports". You look like a ****** throwing dollars everywhere.

I have two. I nabbed a second one when I saw it on sale for $33. Does that meet with your approval for fiscal responsibility?

In fact I'm near of doing that. Just received today my first transport. Someday I'll made a snowy table for Hoth and...

I ended up getting the Shapeways shuttle. I’m using the cardboard tile from the core set as the base. I chopped up a small ship base and kept the center hub. Then I drilled a hole through the cardboard tile and glued the hub in place.

the problem with this is the size of this shuttle, the CSS1 Senator shuttle has a total length of 80 m, (in that case we were dealing with the huge size ships).

So the scale is not the proper...

But I think should be really nice to use the epic rules with this misión, it will make harder to get this ship down and also giving some degree of defense (ramming othe ships...)

I agree. Ideally it would be an 8” long Huge ship (if we were to use the GR-75 scale). Actually, I seriously thought about painting a GR-75 in this color scheme.

I like this little guy too though. It works well for the Political Escort mission and as a generic little civilian shuttle for other homebrew scenarios.

My Idea is to prepare one of this shuttles at 1/270 scale, now I’m with another Diplomatic shuttle (the C70), but outfitted for combat, you can see it on this link...
