Perfect list

By Fenn Rau, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I created this in Arorau squad builder

Dove list

•Poe Dameron (39) - T-70 X-Wing
Proton Torpedoes (4), •BB-8 (2), Weapons Guidance (2)

•Lowhhrick (30) - Auzituck Gunship
Selflessness (1), Wookiee Commandos (1)

•Garven Dreis (31) - X-Wing
•R5-X3 (1), Proton Torpedoes (4)

it it may not work for you but it is perfect for my strategie

Interesting list.

Definitely a possible strong punch turn 1 maybe turn 2 of shooting.

but what is your strategy when flying this?

So it almost looks like this is a list build with a pretty limited collection. If I suggest any upgrades you don't have, just proxy them. Most folks are pretty casual, and understand folks who are starting out.

Lowhhrick is good to go right there. Solid build.

Poe could use a thing or two. Autothrusters, to start (this is a great upgrade to proxy, rather than buying the ship). I don't necessarily hate Weapons Guidance. It really does add a lot of offense to Poe, but it leaves him vulnerable. It's also really hard to use with a torpedo which requires a target lock action instead of a Focus action. Poe is somewhat protected by Lowhhrick if the two are close enough to each other, which mitigates the weaknesses of Weapons Gudiance. The problem then is BB-8. A BB-8 Poe loves to dance around more. You'll be most successful when Poe can get to unpredictable places, which sometimes won't happen if he's flying too close to Lowhhrick. BB-8 works great with either Intensity or Push the Limit. With Push the Limit, you'll reveal a green move, barrel roll, use this barrel roll to Push and typically either Focus or Boost before you actually perform your green move. This will clear the stress, and with a Boost-before-moving, you'll be able to change substantially your move. If you go PTL, you can probably keep Weapons Guidance. Another nice droid on Poe is R2-D2, often with Intensity or Veteran Instincts. Intensity really is one of the best upgrades for Poe these days. With BB-8 Poe in particular, using the PS 9 Poe is often a lot better. Again, this can be proxied (you've got a T-70, just discuss it with your opponent before the game starts).

With Garven Dreis, I don't really see it. He's a middle PS ship (so he'll often have trouble getting a Target Lock to use his Torpedo), and he doesn't really have great synergy with the rest of the list. There are two ships which would work well in this place. One is Biggs Darklighter, typically with R4-D6 and Integrated Astromech (proxy R4-D6, or just use the R5 Astromech which comes with Garvin). Here, Poe will be protected and can safely Weapons Guidance. The other is Jess Pava in a T-70. Perhaps taking a Torpedo with her, but it might not fit in terms of points. M9-G8, the droid which comes in Heroes of the Resistance with her, is a great upgrade. Target lock Poe to begin the game, then just take Focus actions on her.

Here's what I'd do for final lists with a similar feel to your original list (both are 99 points total):

  • Poe (PS 9) with BB-8, Black One, Intensity, Primed Thrusters, Autothrusters (41)
  • Jess Pava with M9-G8, Integrated Astromech (28)
  • Lowhhrick with Selflessness, Wookiee Commandos (30)

or

  • Poe (PS 9) with R2-D2, Black One, Veteran Instincts, Weapons Guidance, Autothrusters (43)
  • Biggs Darklighter with R4-D6, Integrated Astromech (26)
  • Lowhhrick with Selflessness, Wookiee Commandos (30)

Actually I have a lot of ships over $300 worth, and my flying technique i don't want to tell so not everyone knows the exact way I fly just in case I face the later. Also thanks for the squad tips I'll check 'em out.

The chances youll play somone on the forum and they will remember you and how you fly is very minimum.

Share you ideas of how you fly and people can either help or learn from you. Theres plenty of high level players here who will be able to pick apart your flying style and list and with that youll be able to get an insight to how people can counter your list so youll know how to react to them.

Just my 2 cents
