5 Star Ryad

After my tears of joy about the FUNBOAT article had ran out, I began thinking about how will I play them in a list that has both Defenders and Funboats. Here's my first try:

Wired (1)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

XG-1 Assault Configuration (1)

Countess Ryad (34)
Push the Limit (3)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)

Rho Squadron Veteran (21)
Adaptability (0)
Concussion Missiles (4)
Advanced SLAM (2)
Os-1 Arsenal Loadout (2)

Total: 100

Everyone's at PS5 for maximum flexibility. Ryad is fairly good in her traditional build, Karsabi can always HLC, Rho is a relatively cheap distraction with missiles. Thoughts?

Nice list

It would be nice to have Adv Slam on Karsabi if possible.

Maybe save points on Ryad to get her just Lone Wolf?

Could work... If I give LW to Ryad, and switch the Conc missiles on Rho to Cruise missiles, ASLAM fits on Karsab.

I like the idea of giving Ryad Lone Wolf, since the two Gunboats will be slamming away. She can play bait while the others flank.

So if the theme is combining GUNBOATS with Defenders, I am all in. My attempt as part of my never ending quest to make fat Vess work would be to combine Vessery in TIE/D with two GUNBOATS

So the GUNBOATS Target lock on two different enemies giving Vess two Targets for his ability. With the LB the GBs aren't so much restricted to their target locks. Strategy would be to keep them a longer range, disengaging with SLAM when necessary. Question would be if dropping the LB for a Flechette Cannon which could SLAM-Shoot would be better.

I personally think Flechette + HLC does have some merit on LRC Gunboats. LRC gives TL for reroll, so LB isn't mandatory.

Then again, ASLAM can also give a focus for modifying those pesky green dice, when necessery. Hmm...

though the TL doesn't necessary be on the right target. I'd like to spread TL's for vessery and LB gives more freedom to ignore your TL and focus fire without restriction. I'll gonna test different variants of this once theGB arrives
