I was trying to find some explanation on how does the Void Watcher power work. If I understand the rules correctly at Novice lvl it works at the range of perception bonus x VU(10000km) while in combat and only at perception bonus x 1000km while out of combat. How come the range drops so much if your are not in combat?

I can think of no good reason why the power would have different ranges in and out of combat. In my campaign I'll be using the combat range at all times for the power.

I had the same question, until I notice that one VU isn't always 10.000km, which is a guideline only.

A VU is an arbitrary measurement unit, that should be smaller in places like asteroid fields and bigger on "open space". (RT213)
