Reading From A Certain Point Of View...

By Ardaedhel, in Star Wars: Armada

And I'm happy to announce that reports of the CR90 being renamed to the "Alderaan Cruiser" have been greatly exaggerated. Tantive IV is clearly identified as a CR90 corvette, and reference is also made (nonspecifically) to Correllian corvettes.

Also,

Han shot first.

All is right again in the world of Star Wars.

Right down to the cringingly-bad spinoff fiction (seriously, some of the stories in this book are just breathtakingly embarrassing to read).

I loved the book I just wish there was a little more collaboration between authors covering the same thing. Seriously there are at least 5 stories set around the cantina and all of them contradict each other.

There are also two stories that mention Biggs realizing Luke is on Yavin 4 that contradict each other and in two other stories it is mentioned that they had more pilot's than fighters and in the next one they say they have more fighters than pilots.

It's a great read and I strongly recommend it but there are constant contradictions throughout.

Lol, I'm on the Cantina stories right now. I've chosen to interpret them as unreliable narrators, which both resolves those conflicts and makes the stories more interesting by making them more about whatever interests the narrator and less about the story I already know. :)

The Aunt Beru story is stupid and makes me want to claw my eyes out, though. It seriously reads like it was written by a ninth-grader.

This book is starting to sound like one of those movies that's so bad you just have to watch it. Like the Holiday special.

Well, the title is "from a certain point of view".

After all, Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin.....from a certain point of veiw.....

Yup! Which is why I interpret it that way. :)

I have only just finished it myself, and I found it overall pretty enjoyable. Sure, there were some stinkers in there, but most were solid - and the incident report from the desk of Admiral Motti was sheer gold

I considered dropping for the Unabridged Audiobook, so I could listen to it while packing shelves... But it was still a bit of a stretch money wise for me.

Maybe I'll hold of until something better. Thrawn still gets all the replays at the moment.
