Corran ❤️

By SpiderMana, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I recently bought the E-Wing and Headhunter, and wanted to play the both of them for the first time.

I flew Corran with FCS, R7, VI, Stealth Device, and a missle.

Along with Blount and... the other named Z95 Pilot. Both of whole were killed near instantly (before I could get off Blount’s insta-ion ?)

BUT. Then Corran solo’d my friend’s Firespray and YB-666. :3

Needless to say I’m going to build a different second half for him, but Corran was a wonderful surprise to me. I’m guessing others have flown similar lists, but I loved the 4+ dice along with an evade action and making them reroll with the instant target lock.

Thoughts?

I love Corran as well, but he is expensive. I like to fly him with the Falcon acting as a bullet sponge/ blocker.

Corran is great when flown well. This is my preferred build:

Corran Horn (35)
Push the Limit (3)
Fire-Control System (2)
R2 Astromech (1)
Stealth Device (3)

Total: 44

Another build that's very strong, but not easy to fly right is this:

Corran Horn (35)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Advanced Sensors (3)
R2-D2 (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 47

Hideously expensive, but this is the perfect endgame finisher. Fly in, double tap, fly away to regen, rinse and repeat. Adv Sensors instead of FCS increases maneouverability, as you can reposition with a boost or barrel roll, then perform your maneouver.

watch some streams featuring Nathan Eidie, the guy is a Corran Horn master!

The best builds are usually:

Push the Limit/FCS/R2D2/Engine upgrade

or swap FCS for Adv.Sensors

Im super curious about how coordinate will be used with Corran.

What? What did you say? An E-Wing without R2-D2 or BB-8?

(X-Wing community collapses due to inability to accept that E-Wings can do pretty good without regen).

Ironically I played a few weeks ago at my FLGS with a newer player who ran something like a 4 generic rebel squad with an E Wing, B wing, X Wing, and A wing, with almost no upgrades (FCS on the B wing, BB-8 on the E wing or something and a few others). The A Wing died early followed by the B wing, but the E WING- With nothing but evade tokens dodged every single attack for 4 rounds straight with 2 -3 natural evades every roll. Against 2 expertise Strikers and a TAP with PTL.

It was the visual proof I needed to convince myself to never discount generics again. And E Wings without regen. Or hardly any upgrades.

(cries because it refused to die)

4 green dice with focus and evade tokens is pretty hard to get through by 1 ship. If you are attacked by more than one, you're doing it wrong.

Plus, I usually take Miranda with Corran, and she's a more tempting target. X)

Thats the way to go.

*hides in terror behind arc-170, which is behind miranda, which is behind a ghost with a tactical jammer. still gets one shot by a HWK due to dice god hate.)

I've never used him but my friends just love to use him in each list.
