I was kind of enjoying all of the creativity about alternate play.
Now everyone is just back to hen-pecking cards.

I agree. I was happy to see info on the long awaited Gun Boat, but I do wish there was another official format other than the 100pt-6asteroid death match. My son and I often play funny little scenarios he makes up on the spot(he's only six) and we give each player a primary, secondary, and sometimes a tertiary objective that must be completed in order to win. It's a lot of fun.
I'm still waiting for the Wave 13 announcement, because with more Resistance and 1st Order ships released the better my alternative format gets.
everyone will be back it by the day after tomorrow. Jumpmasters still exist

If it makes you feel any better, I need two gunboats for my Imperial asteroid base TIE Fighter prototype testing facility Epic scenario (phew, that's a mouthful). Coming to a forum near you sometime next year. It will incorporate things from the TIE Fighter video game (including Maarek Stele in an Avenger), EA Battefront 2 (Corvus) and Grand Admiral Thrawn (commissioned 50cm, scratch-built Arquitens Light Cruiser), among other EU elements.

How do I formulate it nicely.
A scenario with a custom commissioned 50cm, scratch-build ARG!Kittens cruiser fails to excite me, because I am not gonna build one nor pay a small fortune to get one custom build commissioned 50cm, build from scratch Arquitens light-cruiser.
Or in other words, your target audience sounds mostly just you and your friends °_^

How do I formulate it nicely? I doubt
@weisguy119
is concerned.
Although I think I need a ship called the Argg Kittens.

I am very much looking forward to the StarWing and the TIE Silencer. Both feel like breaks from the TIE-var monotony (since the Silencer is bigger than your average bear).
The StarWing at least feels like a customizable ship. Too many of the best Imp ships are Chassis + required Title + required upgrade.

The OP was lamenting the lack of creativity and alternative play since the article dropped. So, I presented the project I’m working on as an example that some of us are still focusing on just that. To formulate it nicely, if that kind of thing doesn’t interest you, move along.

The Silencer just might be the ship that coerces me into taking the Sequel Era plunge. It’s a pretty ship.

For me, the rock solid Imp ships are Defender, TAP, and TIE/sf. So, I gotta mush 'em together. I hope to add TIE Silencer and StarWing to that list. I think Bomber could be there too if I explored it better.
Plus, I kinda like the black and white FO livery.
At my next Meetup, I'm planning on flying Han with Leia and Chewie crew, with Luke and R2 in an X-wing, if that helps...
