Is anyone else tempted to throw in jabba plus another ally just to boost imperial card draw?

Not when RbF is 1 point and Officers have easy access to Planning.

6 points is too expensive for just a card draw. He can't focus or order hit with any imperial units. even with new good trooper cards, I'd say it's never worth it to bring jabba into imperials, not even close

And if you take Jabba and Equays?

Before the new imperial toys, I really considered Jabba and one set of eWeequays. You’d have the card draw and 2 good figures to focus/order hit. With the VP bonus, I think he could be played to where he is at least not a liability.

My opinion on Jabba is that he's overrated even in the mercenary faction. Jabba + weequays in the imperial faction means I have to do 12 damage to take 13 points worth of figures out of the game, not to mention any hunter cards you brought along. In competitive games vs jabba all you have to do is trade a couple figures and you'll have much better control of the map by the end of round 2.

Totally agree Jabba doesn't synergize well with Imperials.

Jabba's definitely not the best support figure in the game. He really locks a Mercenary list into a MURDER-DEATH-KILL squad. And in the maps currently in the rotation, MURDER-DEATH-KILL might be more easily countered based on objectives or starting location. I think we all agree Bully is a wasted ability. And even if we wanted to move Jabba out of the most protected area of the deployment zone, he's not going anywhere being fat (2x2 squares) slug (Speed 2).

I think Jabba will feel less overrated when the Mercs bring in another deployment of cost 4 or less that provides good support WITHOUT it being support for MURDER-DEATH-KILL (like the Rebel Care Package). Hired Guns are supposed to be that option, but their Parting Shot is so weak that it doesn't discourage your opponent to leave them alone. I'd like to see what Jabba + elite Alliance Smugglers might look like nowadays.

WOAH WOAH WAIT. You guys/ladies are forgetting the ULTIMATE combo with Jabba Claus.

Saska Teft + Jabba the Hutt + SMUGGLER'S RUN= your opponent is so shocked you automatically win. Han and Jabba together again, at last.

....or maybe we should call it "Smuggler's Crawl"

Do you really think that regular riot troopers are below average? For 2 points each?

The regular riot for 2p, I see them quite playable ...
they have a great endurance for its cost, to shield figures or control are very good,
and if the first shots (the most powerful with focus, camouflage and others) invest in killing you 2 points...
they have already rented

Except they aren't really two points. They are 5. And for 5 you could pay 2 more and get eJets which are actually good. So maybe if you need more Troopers and already have two sets of eJets in Imperials then I'd consider rRiots.

I agree they are 5, I don't understand the 2 pt comment, just like hired guns would be more playable if they were 2 for 3pts instead of 4pts which they are. At 4 there are too many other options, even at 3pts, the ejawa is better.

But if you already have 2 eJets, the rRiots are good for holding objectives and soaking up damage. They have 5+health each, meaning, with their token, they almost have to have 2 attacks to take them off the board most of the time. which is 4 attacks that aren't being aimed at your ejets or whoever.

They are 5 to include, but only 4 when defeated.

The figure cost is 2 points. Investing 2 or maybe 3 attacks (due to Zillo) to gain 2 points is not a good trade.

I agree, that's why I think they do have some merit to be included as a harassment or terminal holding figure. They will keep an area clear as well as their red/blue will do some damage if you get too close.

Seems legit.
