2ed Rules for Bumping?

By BenDay, in X-Wing

My uncle works at Area 51 and I can confirm this is unreleased government tech from a 4,000 year old spacecraft found frozen in the ice caps on mars

It will be added in wave 33 as a supposedly harmless way to resolve ship collisions but the government is lying to you. They want to control your maneuvers and these templates are the first step in their master plan. #resist

Not cool, @BenDay . If you have an idea then just say so and post it. You’ll get feedback, don’t worry. The “my play tester friend showed me this new thing” is unnecessary, aggravating, and frankly, pretty pathetic.

Now that that’s out of the way...

I agree with what others have said- it’s too fiddly and creates at least as many problems as it solves.

The most elegant solution to bumping I’ve ever seen is actually the system that Wings of War/Glory uses: for each ship you also have a little card, about the size of an X-Wing upgrade card, with an outline of the ship’s base on it. When you overlap a ship you just take your ship off the table and put the card in its place, sliding it under the ship(s) you overlapped until it’s lined up with the final position of your maneuver. The result is that you can actually overlap other ships, just like with obstacles.

Here is the link to buy the templates... there is no image but you could probably ask LITKO to confirm for you if you don't trust me :)

I hope you get some kind of ban for this ****....

somehow a leaked playtester thing of a "new mechanic to X-wing 2ed" turned into a link to purchase 3rd party stuff.

Get off these forums. You are my first blocked person.
