Yup, closest for me is Fresno. Pass.

60 player only though?! Why isn't atomic empire hosting?! They have enough space for a 200 person regional, easy. Years past realistically we only need about 120 person regional. The fact it's limited To 60 is very disappointing.

Does FFG even ask how big a stores footprint is before making a decision???
(EDIT) I note the listing proclaims a capacity of 100. ROTFLMAO. 100 if you put a ton of tables out in the street in front of the store (which they did in the past for a Store Champs).
My bet is the Store TO will shift to an off-site venue (increasing the cost to cover the venue fee??).
Yeah, I believe I saw somewhere it will be off site. Store Champs they had the building next door, but that get them to 50 if that... So most likely renting a gym out or something. Which I guarantee you they'll increase the cost to cover the venue fee.
Non draft URL if folks are looking for it... FFG Organized Play FB page posted this awhile ago:

Me, too. I wasn't sure I was going to use my Bye at all, but if it were in Mountain View? Maybe. Nothing against Fresno, but that's way too far for this game, nowadays.
Wait, Houston got a Regional?! Over Dallas?! I'm not familiar with this Dragon's Lair store and I just moved away from there last year. It must be brand new.
Seems like they're shaking it up quite a bit this year over the last few years, which has its pros and cons. I think it's definitely good to give some other stores a shot instead of just giving Regionals to the same store every year . . . incentivizes competition. Hopefully we'll have some cool tourneys.
But wait----where are the Star Wars: Legion regionals? (say that 3 times fast).

Contact the stores, usually it's no biggy for them to adjust schedule slightly when giving warnings of collisions ahead of time.

I doubt they are going to concern themselves with it - the nearest is about 5 hours away and the other is about 7 hours away from me. Literally in opposite directions, on the same highway, so 12 hours away from one another at 75 mph on the interstate (I have no sympathy for the other salty players lol). So I would have to chose only one to attend in all likelihood anyway.
Hmm only one i can get to reasonably is Covenant, pass not a fan of the FFG outlet store. Guess i get to go to Nebraska. Past 3 years I have gone to 5 regional s guess I am not making one this year. Only one near Kansas Missouri Oklahoma and northern Arkansas. FFG certainly likes to make things difficult.

I mean I don't see why not, collision detector is a free upgrade.
Is this seriously a final list for regionals in the us? Looks really thin to me ..
I don't use salt much, but this sucks ffg...
Nice to see Arizona get a Regional again.

FFG can only work with those who applied for getting a regional. As people complete their collections these days, it's hard to justify hosting events as a store owner from a pure marketing perspective. All OP events are meant to operate at a loss, but most of them are meant to run on a loss of the store owners, not FFG. This includes regionals.
Though I doubt that a draft document is the final list of all regionals ;-)

it's not just a draft document anymore. FFG announced it themselves earlier
No regional in the Dallas area is annoying, weird that Houston and Austin each get one and there isn't a single one in Dallas. I'd think there'd at least be a regional at Madness.

Last year Houston didn't get one while Austin & Dallas both did.

This cant be final. No Norcal regional? I don't believe it.

Fresno is NoCal.....sort of.

Yeah, I genuinely don't think it's complete. Probably released prematurely since it was leaked.
(If this is complete, then X-Wing is hurting really badly.)
It's not final. Look beyond the US and you'll see Canada and beyond are TBD. There's room for further expansion in the US, though only FFG likely knows at this stage.
Edit: Paul raises strong logic otherwise in the very next post. I am most likely incorrect.
Edited by LagJansonIt's final, guys. It's about the same number of US regionals as the previous two years, before I got bored trying to find them in FFG's clunky search system:
2016 Apr-Jun: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/op/events/archive/x-wingtm-2016-regional-championship-locations/ has 31 locations.
2016 Nov-2017 Jan: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/op/events/archive/2016-regional-championships-may-track/x-wing/ has 33 locations.
This one has 32. Sorry your area didn't get picked, but they do try to move them around.

Wonder why there's one fewer this year. You'd think there'd be a couple more than last year if the game was still growing.

There's a limited number of Regional events, a store can charge a premium for as a result.
$20 for 50+ people plus concessions is easily profitable.
