Can I get your NymBAA?

By cybercat07, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey folks,

So I've been looking up a bunch of different builds and different philosophies on builds. Normally I try to cram two or three aces into a list with one or (maaaaybe) two generics, but I have found recently that I've been getting kicked around with those lists. I'm trying to shift my focus onto making lists with ONE ace, and then a bunch of generics. Here is my first crack at it. Let me know what you all think about it. It isn't fancy by any means.

Rebel Nym (43 total)

-Havoc

-Push the Limit

-Synced Turret

-Bomblet Generator

-Advanced Sensors

Dagger Squadron Pilot (26 total)

-Fire-Control System

2x Prototype Pilots (15 total for each)

-Chardaan Refit

My plan was to use the A's as blockers/flankers. I'll have Nym drive up a side and drop bomblets galore. The B should follow up and try to finish off anyone Nym gets.

Feedback anyone? Strengths, weaknesses, competitiveness?

Thanks!

I’ll let the feedback come from the pros. I’m just hear to pay tribute to one of the best squad names EVA’!!!

well played, well played lol

A lot of people will say how tough it is to run generics, which I don't personally agree with. I will say that the b-wing may struggle by getting TLT'd to death, and its slow speed makes it susceptible to bombs. but whatever.

The only thing I'll say is that you probably won't see a benefit by doing the dagger rather than a Blue, so why not use those points elsewhere?

I think you would be better with Twin Laser and VI than Synced and PTL.

If you want to keep the Synced, then swap out Advanced Sensors for FCS :) Then you could trade the PTL for Engine Upgrade and Trick Shot or Adaptability or ASTS.

Nym just doesn't have the greens for Ptl I don't think...

Interesting. I agree that synced turret isn't an optimal choice. Unfortunately, based on my available upgrades it is either that or Twin laser turret. I really would still like the advanced sensors though, especially when I am about to perform a green maneuver (two actions for free!), or if I'm about to pull off a Talon roll. It is more about creating an offensive threat than using ptl to turtle up.

And in response to dropping down the Dagger to a blue, I had those two points left over, I can bump up Nym to a TLT or I can throw autothrusters on one of the A's?

If you switch PTL to VI, that frees up 2 extra points for TLT.

Also, since you are running the title, put genius on an astromech, it's 0 points.

You can also run long range scanners for 0 as well. That would help in the early game for your loss of PLT. And that's assuming you don't make the changes to get EU. advanced sensors and EU on Nym is such a pain to go up against. Nym can basically be anywhere.

I've been toying with the idea of something similar to this which I think I'm going to try out tomorrow during league night. I was having trouble deciding between the Rookie Pilot's and Blue Squadron b-wings but decided on trying X-Wings first mostly because of TLTs.
