So, when you resolve the Mythos card to determine the location of the Servant of Glaaki, do you "resolve" anything else on the card?

no
That's brevity at its best! So, you simply look at the location and otherwise discard the Mythos Card? Again, thanks for the quick response.

Yes, yes, and yes.
**** ;') I could have just said yes.
I do enjoy your posts (and those from Tibs and ColtsFan, as well). Dam always seems a bit . . . angry. Again, thanks for the response.

Naturally Dam is angry, he lives Sweden, so he is very cold all the time. This makes him cranky. Also, he is secretly resentful for not owning Kingsport Horror. I think the fact that people are constantly copying his avatar adds to his irritability ;'D
Very nice; thanks for reminding me
Hey, one more for the night and that's it...promise.
So, Michael McGlen pulls the following OW encounter:
Other
You've completed your task, but now you must escape before the portal closes! Pass a Speed (-2) check to return to Arkham. If you fail you are lost in time and space. In either event, you automatically close the gate you entered through.
The question: As Michael passed the check, may he seal the gate on the next turn?

I dodged 2 rumor cards that way in my last game with Glaaki. Also 2 mythos cards that would have really helped me, but hey, you take the bad with the good.
I had that encounter come up recently and asked the same question here. I was sad to learn the answer seems to be no, you cannot seal it.
According to the upcoming FAQ, you can't seal the gate.
Dam's not really angry... just blunt. He's the kind of breed where more difficult is always better (he loves the Black Goat herald. More power to him!). To a degree, that is the best way to appreciate Arkham.
Also, his BGG tag says "Oulu, Finland." Doesn't mean that's where he is, but... I always assumed that's where he was.

;') he is also angry because I can't differentiate between Sweden and Finland.

That's a HUGE mistake in my book

Sweden! SWEDEN!!!
Sweet Cthulhu, have mercy
!
As for Servants of Glaaki, having "No One Can Help You Now" out from the mid-game onward and you only draw Environments when a Servant comes out makes for some nervious turns.

I'm trying not to laugh since it's the middle of the night here, but would you be less angry if I spelled it Swedam?
C'mon, you should know better than to ask mercy from Cthulhu or me ;')
Dam,
All kidding aside, I thoroughly have enjoyed both the timely responses and playful "jabs" at one another offered by you, ColtsFan, Avi_Dreader, and Tibs. While I have not had the pleasure of reviewing the - what must be a massive - FAQ, the formatting alone will prove to be a nightmare, as the FAQ must cover myriad interpretations, possible outcomes, and well-balanced solutions for items, OW & Arkham Encounters, and Mythos Cards. as someone who writes Foreign Language Policy for the U.S. Government, I can only manage the Sanity loss in this enterprise.
Best of luck to all who have read the FAQ and have offered input.

I haven't read (or seen) the thing either. Not part of the Inner Circle
.
And I'm just the sort of anal-retentive nitpicker who is perfect for proof-reading

The Elder Gods of FFG are punishing you for not owning Kingsport ;'D
Avi,
So, after a game taking two-and-a-half hours ~ a real nail-biter, we won...barely. I'll post the info on Tibs' thread where one can post their results on the spreadsheet.

Even with the IH GOOs, Glaaki remains very high on my nemesis list, that is #1. Only Bokrug from IH looks to be making it to that list, for some reason (maybe that 6-seal win with doom track at 2 of 12 molestation was motivation for old Lizzie) getting very weird Mythos draws against him.
I kid you not, this was one of the more intense games I've played. The Terror Track moved with enough frequency to toss the Servants on the board and cause havoc, coupled with the fact that I just couldn't get my hands on enough clues. I realize that several players have no issue with the game, but the need to acquire Clues, more than Items, Allies, Monster or Gate Trophies remains a constant difficulty in my sessions. As a an ol' role-player this game has so many outstanding elements, from its beautiful presentation to its re-play value. I have to admit, even when you lose, it's a great ride.

Hopefully our identical avatars will cause Avi to fail his Sanity check

"Aieee, Dam's talking to himself again!"

My special card text allows me to have zero maximum sanity without being devoured ;')

I see I'm not the only one with zero max san. Oh, Professor, is that you? I though it was Dam ;')

That is an odd oversight. Guess you shouldn't have made those jokes about Kevin's hairline
