Skirmish 1-2 Turn long event cards

I had a quick idea about skirmish and I would like to ask your opinion about it:

What if we shuffle some weather condition or other events on a deck and we draw one card from it every turn during skirmish

It can be terrain related so cannot happen a sandstorm after a blizzard for example.

Some examples:

Sandstorm: -1 dmg for ranged weapons

Fog: -1 accuracy for ranged weapons

Wrath of Nature: Deploy 1 mercenary creature (treat cost 5 or lower) for two turn. Player with initiative controls the creature in each turn.

Any ideas?

it could be interesting for friendly plays as a homemade alteration, but I do not think it will be good for tournaament play (it will introduce too much variety and randomness, favouring one list or other).

But, I think that maybe some conditions could be used as a command cards? For example:

Bad weather: - 1 accuracy for ranged weapons until the end of next turn

I think they have tried to do stuff like that to some extend with Command Cards such as Set A Trap and Harsh Environments. Could be interesting to try and build around those. I've tried Set A Trap a couple of times as a zoning card. But building around a single CC that works for one turn doesn't seem too good :)

An effect that lasts an entire turn or two would be extremely powerful, would it not? Even if it's as weak as -1 accuracy, if applied to all attacks that turn that's pretty strong. Even if it affects both players, it'd be easy for a smart user to plan around it with weequays or rangers.

It would be strong for sure, but I doubt if 3-points cost strong

In Palpatine's Skirmish Map, there is a mission called Battle at Dawn. For the first round of the game, all ranged attacks have -3 Accuracy; second round, -2 Accuracy; third round, -1 Accuracy.

I think having random environmental or situational effects would be fun for a custom tournament! I may just use this idea.

Legion has Environments as one of the three elements for the mission setup minigame.

(Don't remember exactly what they are called. Environments was probably from Arkham Horror.)

Like the sound of that mission. Can help even out some of these long ranged lists, possibly.
