I don't need to. Crane has always been and will always be the greatest of the great clans. ![]()

I'll be Dragon for life, but I definitely want to play Crab and Phoenix when I need a change of pace.
Strange ... was listening to Covenant Cast a couple weeks ago and it seems like it's not just me on the Dragon-Phoenix-Crab train. It might be a thing. ![]()

So...you said 30 minutes. How long do you need me to keep holding this beer?

Sorry, was referencing another thread that's a hot mess wherein that argument was essentially being made. Except the beer part...I added that. For humor.

So...can he drink it, or do you want it back?

You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to drink the beer........here give it to me. I'll show you how it's done.
I'm very much enjoying not having any sort of clan loyalty in this. Back when I started in AGOT 1.0, my friends and I all basically decided on a House and being the last person to turn up, all that was left was Greyjoy. Suited me, miserable ressurectionist pirates? Fantastic. I played them for years and years, and then when AGOT 2.0 I still played them because I'm in my mid-30's now and any sort of change is really hard and scary.
I've only dabbled with L5R now and then and actually know very little about it, and it's quite refreshing to play a card game where I don't immediately know what I'm going to be committing the rest of my time to. I also like how none of the clans feel clear cut and archetypical.
I like Scorpion, but in all honesty, I don't think I'm smart or attentive enough to be one.
Crab looks pretty good. And Dragon. Not unicorn though because purple is a rubbish colour.

My soon to be 8 year old daughter agrees with this. My toenails are currently painted purple so I'm playing unicorn until it comes off.

It's objectively the worst colour, sorry. They proved it back during the cold war, but America suppressed the evidence due to pressure from Snapple-funded lobbyists.

if it's the color of the best flavor, it's the best color.
Pick a Clan whose flavor you enjoy and root for them.
Play every Clan that has a deck that appeals to you.
Learn about decks you don't like to understand how they tick.
We need a Cow Clan or a Hippo Clan.
Then I'm totally in.

RJC loves him some purple drank.

Ox Clan?
I think that's the best we got.

Wicked. I'm totally down with Ox clan.
You guys are going to have to put up with me knowing absolutely next to nothing about this sort of stuff. I'm really wary of L5R as a universe as well. After basically committing the entire Metaplot of Vampire: The Masquerade to memory, I'm incredibly wary of getting too deep into a universe like this game seems to have.
I don't specifically like FFG but I would love to see VTES brought out of torpor (:D). It's perfect for a non-collectible card game.
Last I checked I think the community was running things with pdf sets and what not.

Well, everything rebooted. So the only stuff that's official is the few short stories that are out.
That means, technically, the Ox Clan doesn't exist that we're aware of.
Loyal to The Lion Clan from the very first day until the end.
I have some sympathy for the Crab and the Phoenix, but only as allies.

Good enough to sleep with, but not good enough to marry?

I actually think that Crane probably has the biggest shift in play style from the CCG to LCG. To be fair, no one but Crane really liked the old Crane playstyle? But, I will agree it is pretty different.
I am of Dragon.
I hold both blades of my fate.
The future and past.

The question remains
Blades of your fate, curved or straight?
Go ask Unicorn
Edited by Ishi TonuAs a new player, I understand the concept of clan loyalty, but not being married to the lore, I am looking forward to at least trying all the clans. I've probably played Crab the most (still not much), but if I'm going to be buying the cards, I might as well get the most out of them, so I don't foresee myself stubbornly sticking to one or another.
