Yet Another Palp Aces List

By BanthaFather, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Time to dust off everyone's favorite/most hated list. Here's my most recent stab at what I'll call the Scarif Aces. The idea is high pilot skill and maneuverability, with solid support and sustainability from the shuttle. If flown right you'll be behind the enemy and putting out a lot of hurt. Yes, this is a bit of a glass cannon, but I think it has a decent punch to it.

Speaking of punches--don't pull any. Using these ships (you can choose other pilots), what list would you make? How can I improve the Scarif Aces?

Darth Vader [TIE/x1, Cruise Missiles, Veteran Instincts, Engine Upgrade, Advanced Targeting Computer] (38)
“Duchess” [Veteran Instincts, Adaptive Ailerons, Lightweight Frame] (26)
Captain Yorr [Sensor Jammer, Emperor Palpatine] (36)

I'd cut sensor Jammer in favor of kicking up Yorr to Jendon. Duchess can't TL, so I'd pass one to Duchess via Jendon. and then add a little somethin' somethin' with 2 extra points maybe a FCS so you constantly have a TL to give, or something fancy to taste.

I really wouldn't recommend FCS on a lambda. I've tried about a dozen times to make that work, but it's just too easy to fly behind him or for aces to boost or barrel roll out of arc. Giving him the ST-321 title makes it a lot easier to get those locks, and you can just focus on keeping near enough to your other ships to pass them off. You could also consider using a generic upsilon for the same points give or take, which is a lot more effective in combat, although you won't have locks to give out.

The aces look fine; there's only so many good options out there for imperial and most are in the 35-40 point range, so fitting in a striker or /fo seems like a good fit for the last points. I personally like quickdraw or the inquisitor paired with omega leader, but they're just ships that I fly more regularly than Vader or strikers. Think there's anyway to build in a Defender? Maybe a VI, /x7 Vessery?
