I need some new Upsilon and Lambda builds, and I'm not that creative. I know you guys are.
The Empire's Best: Shuttle Builds
You mean dioramas? Or you want to use the ships in some DIY project?
Any Imperial Shuttle - Fleet Officer
Any Imperial Shuttle - Darth Vader
Any Imperial Shuttle - Emperor Palpatine
Any Imperial Shuttle - Kylo Ren
Any Imperial Shuttle - Operations Specialist
Any Imperial Shuttle - Fire Control System, Gunner
Any of the above with Electronic Baffle
Any of the above with Tractor Beam
Any Upsilon combination featuring any combination of Rebel Captive, Mara Jade, Tactician and Kylo Ren's Shuttle
Major Stridan with Fleet Officer and/or Operations Specialist
Kagi can be used to protect the rest of your fleet from ordnance alphastrikes
Ion Projector, Baffle and Palpatine on a Omicron for a cheap permablocker
4 space cows.
4 mangler cannons
1 epic formation
I don't own an Upsilon as of yet, humbling story behind that haha. Anyway, Lambdas are fun. My favorite build is not meta competative, but hey, all Imperial lists fall in that category so you might as well fly fun in that faction rather than fly just under OP and get beat every time. Anyway, it's a blast to fly; my Prisoner Transport Team 2515:
35 Captain Yorr (24), Rebel Captive (1), Gunner (5), Engine Upgrade (4), Tractor Beam (1)
33 Turr Phennir (25), Royal Guard Pilot (0), Push the Limit (3), Stealth Device (3), Autothrusters (2)
32 Kir Kanos (24), Royal Guard Pilot (0), Push the Limit (3), Stealth Device (3), Autothrusters (2)

If that build were actually possible to fly without breaking several game rules, I would totally fly it

Everyone knows that Kur Kanos is an Elite Pilot. And yeah, it's a Tractor Beam on the Cow when I fly the named guys and not Royal Guard Pilots which is common, my bad. I fixed that one, thanks. Funny thing is, when I drop the list on the table with Kur having PTL with no EPT, no one cares; they're like "I don't mind." I guess I could get a Krayt bounty if I can get it in for a big tournament win, haha.
Edited by clanofwolvesHas anyone besides me tried Kylo/Stridan with Recon Specialist and Weapons Guidance?
This is of interest to me, particularly flying three Upsilon and four Lambda. But the prisoner transport list looks fun, too.
3 OGP w/tractor beam + ace of choice. I like my preferred Soontir w/ PtL, Autothrusters, title and Targeting Computer. You could also get a decent Vader, say with Engine/title/ATC (or a different system (like FCS or AS) and a cheap EPT like Adaptability)

I really enjoy the following.
Kylo ren with recon specialist, weapons guidance, pattern analyzer

When you realize that's just my build that you took credit for to look like you know what you're doing

Also, I have no idea what you're talking about.

That's some very nice painting, @clanofwolves .
TIE/SF Fighter: •"Quickdraw" (33)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Special Ops Training (0)
Adaptability (+1) (0)
Fire-Control System (2)
TIE/FO Fighter: •"Omega Leader" (24)
•A Score to Settle (0)
Comm Relay (3)
Upsilon-Class Shuttle: •Kylo Ren (43)
Draw Their Fire (1)
Collision detector (0)
•Emperor Palpatine (8)
Total: 100/100
Considering the Upsilons vulnerabilities, I find this squad fun and modestly effective. You can switch DTF for VI, Crackshot or another suitable EPT.
I have a OT tournament this weekend. I'm grateful for these shuttle ideas. Thinking of running one with Hux and two Bombers with unguided rockets as a trio plus an ace (Vader). But these other ideas are making me rethink it.

I've tried it. Once. I had Pattern Analyzer instead of Advanced Sensors, I got blocked, out of the fight, and them exploded. I've been meaning to try it again with Advanced Sensors. Or maybe I could just fly it better, because I've had no trouble with:
KYLO RAGE!
Kylo Ren (Rage, Electronic Baffle, Inspiring Recruit, Pattern Analyzer)
I used to run it without Inspiring Recruit, but Kylo loses health too fast. I just love the theme here, just like when he was punching himself to get focused in his battle against Rey in The Force Awakens. I usually add Rebel Captive and Kylo Ren's Shuttle title.
A thematic First Order squad. Again, not the most fearsome Imperial squad, but very fun.

Shout out to what this guy is selling.
Its possible with practice to keep the Lamda and more easily the Upsilon on a target....but it takes a lot or practice and familiarity with openings, rock placement, and using your other ships to "herd" your opponent into arc.
Electronic Baffle is an incredible 1 pt card for eating stress with Yorr or repeated hard stops and 1 or 3 turns.
Its possible with Expert Handling and Advanced Sensors with Boost to get similar amout of time on target. Thats my favorite way to fly Kylo at least.
But Baffle is 1 pt to get to the same result.
If your not using the Kylo Shuttle and your a newbie or even experienced player who is struggling to push out damwge with Shuttles in general.
Use Electronic Baffle.
Its fantastic.
Particularly on the Upsilon youll find your self chucking alot more 4 red dice!
Edited by Boom OwlI've enjoyed Adv Sensors and Engine Upgrade to get the Boost action before you do a hard turn. It helps keep the ship facing combat. Yes, it is expensive.
Edited by heychadwickFour of these for the win
Shuttle Butt (25)
Omicron Group Pilot (25) - Lambda-Class Shuttle

I like - my one recommendation for even more crippling chaos; take 1-2 of them and replace the ion cannon with tactician & tractor beam.
A ship which is ionized, stressed, and barrel rolled to line up with a rock is officially allowed to complain about having a bad day.
If you can afford it, Gunner, Fire Control, Operations Specialist is a brutal combination - essentially, if you have a shot, you get a shot with target lock and focus automatically, meaning your actions can be spent entirely on repositioning.
A great combination for manoeuvre is Kylo Ren, Pattern Analyser, Daredevil/Engine Upgrade or Expert Handling. Anyone thinking "It's just a shuttle, I'll get behind it" is in for a steep learning curve.
Pair with FCS/Gunner/Tactician to double-stress anyone caught in arc at range 2, and Kylo Ren's Shuttle and you can throw a lot of stress tokens out. Alternatively, Rebel Captive gives the shuttle an "are you really, really sure you want to shoot at him" feel.
