Hey guys,
Did anyone try something similar to the BT Avenger, but on the Rebel side?
I am personally a big fan and user of Cham HH, but I never tried something heavier.
Thanks for sharing your experience!

Are you just asking if we've tried using Boarding Teams on an Assault Frigate? Because that's the only thing you can do in return.
Because the BT Avenger is a result of its special Rules... Its not just a big ship with a Boarding Team, its the fact that Avenger itself leverages the auto-spend of the Boarding Team to mean you cannot use defense tokens .
There is no Rebel equivelant.
At all.
End of Story.

It a real shame our sheilds can't repel firepower of that magnitude.

Who needs shields when you've got Colt 45?
On an actually-helpful side note, the MC75 looks like it should be a good delivery mechanism for the heavier boarding teams (as Boarding Troopers right now aren't great for Rebels*), and tapped-out defense tokens from Boarding Troopers followed by a double-arc from that would be ugly. Not
Avenger
ugly, mind you, but still quite considerable.
*Assault Frigates really would prefer to not be that close. Torp Hammerheads can do kind of okay with them by exhausting the brace or scatter prior to their super External Racks turn but it's not amazing.
Dras has the right of it, without Avenger, I don’t really care at all about Boarding troopers as a major single-ship threat.
Sure, it still is a game changer, but sacrificing the Weapons team slot on any ship is a hefty opportunity cost.
Isn't there a crit where you can't spend exhausted defense tokens? I suppose you could use corona and a crit platform to try and fish that one up, then line up boarding troopers assault frigate... Of course this assumed you live in magical Christmas land ? and asserting all this up is then trivial...
nah, better to just triple tap with nym, get rid of their brace, then hit em hard
In Nordics Tournament I meet a BT Avenger, It moved into position, to be able deliver its deadly punch in the beginning of next turn, but it never survived long enough to see the next turn, as my Yavaris-B-wing-Liberty combo said;
"Where do you think you are going?"
There might be some merit in an assault Frigate B with paragon turbo laser to taste. Comes in less than 100 pts and is a non trivial threat. I’d have to try it first

You need three parts for the BTA.
1.) A ship with a lot of dice for good damage.
2.) The gunnery team and offense slot.
3.) The Titel Avenger.
The first part is possible. But for the second you already have some problems. The Mark II is the biggest ship that has these two upgrade slots.
And we dont really have to talk about the 3rd point. The rebels are lacking this one for sure.
The biggest bonus of the BTA is the combination to exhaust all defense tokens and prevent the opponent from using them.
So for your question if anyone tried to make a BTA for Rebels. Even if someone tried, it cannot work. Because the rebels are lacking the most important parts.
But what rebels can do is to use two boarding troopers to spend all the defense tokens in exchange for the Avenger titel. But you need two Mark II for this, and can only spend 3 tokens (not 4 like the ISD can).
For Rebels i would try to do something with Cham Syndulla on a Hammerhead. This might be more interessting. Or Boarding Engineers on a Hammerhead with Garel's Honor. I think this might be better than Boarding Troopers.

I've made the mistake of underestimating Cham on a hammerhead. I won't do that again.

You could achieve a BTVenger-Light effect if you had a ship that could take BT and had two adjacent hull zones that could both put out strong damage. Which doesn't exist currently, but...

We will see. It does not help when this ship has only a squadron value of 2
