The negativity negatively impacts the game

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

Seriously guys, chill out. There are thousands of people around the globe enjoying this game on a daily basis, and yet there's a vocal minority seemingly intent on being miserable at all costs (and letting everybody know about it in the process).

Why obsess so much? Why let your sense of entitlement get in the way of a good time? Why get yourself stuck in a vicious circle of negativity?

Don't take things so seriously. Enjoy the game for what it is, not what you think it should be. It's a game of toy spaceships. And multicoloured dice. It's fun.

It's less fun than it used to be.

You're completely right. This game is fun.

But it's not true fun until GUNBOAT.

So until then I'm gonna pout and be mad.

We are already discussing this here:

This.

Its on a downward track, and fans of the game that feel this way want it to stop declining.

Sitting by silently while you watch something you love destroy itself is not an option to some. So they speak out.

bump.

@FTS Gecko you seem entitled to thinking the forum should only be used the way you see fit. Mayhaps you publish some guidelines for the rest of less important "entitled" folk can keep up...

It's not the way he sees fit, it's the way most game forums should be. Friendly conversation and useless speculation.

You forgot criticism, which is a huge part of the feedback loop.
Also, ignore the users you don't want to hear from when their version of "useless speculation" is too much for you.

I say useless because while it's fun to speculate about cards and stuff, it doesn't really get you anywhere.

I like to speculate, especially about GUNBOAT cards, but I just mentioned it because pretty much every game with expansions has speculation threads.

Your negative reaction to negativity is negatively impacting the game.

I mean..
Stick to the casual threads or make your own. Just because you don't want to use the forum for all of its uses...

All Hail GUNBOAT

^this. Serious guys relax, sit back and let the complainers complain about the inbalance. Let the fixers discuss their fixes. Let the metacritic criticise the meta. It is not that much of a problem.

Oh boy, this is going to be an entertaining thread.

I just want previews and a new FAQ. Honestly, its the dead silence that is annoying me. Otherwise, I played 3 games Friday night and had a blast, so whatevs.

Emon Assman supremacy is OP.

Completely agree.
I encourage you to be active in all the ways you want to be on the forum. It's a bit hypocritical for me to say you shouldn't criticize the complainers, but you will entice more complaining.
So carry on.

I might be too late to the party but from what I remember from basic math two negatives make a positive, which leads me to believe we are just fine.

But what if I like being negative. Positive is to chipper for me today.

Also the GUNBOAT will save us all

I don't have anything noteworthy to add to this conversation. I'm just enjoying the banter.

Oh.. and Hail Gunboat!

"The dark side is strong in me, for I am Sith."

Well, at least the first post was nice. I'm off to a different thread.

I mean isn't Positive supposed to be associated with Hope and Light therefore being the Light side of the Force. I am Dark and Dark is the opposite of Light and Negative is the opposite of Positive so I will be Negative.

GUNBOAT speaks to me at night. It says "Be Negative and all will be right"

The problem is that us complainers actually care about the game and want it to be in a better place. We criticize it because we love it, and it's disheartening to hear that the devs just don't seem to care about the game any more. Honestly, I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to stop buying stuff, as the game just keeps getting more degenerate and more restricted because of the non-stop broken bs that scum (and to a slightly lesser extent, rebels) keep getting.

Calling a group of the forum users entitled and miserable is nice? Confirmation bias much?

I hate it when people react negatively to negative reactions towards negativity! >:-(

To me, the main issue isn't criticism, which is, as you point out, a perfectly valid and useful thing. The problem comes when you have someone ranting about how someone flying Redline managed to roll all hits for every single piece of ordnance he fired, so clearly the TIE Punisher is OP, and needs to not only be brought into balance, but needs to be absolutely nerfed into oblivion, and how DARE you disagree and try to bring up any counter-arguments, which I am so opposed to that instead of even attempting to address them and start an actual, beneficial discussion (even if it gets heated at times), I will instead simply insult all who have an opposing view and continue asserting that my position is flawless!

Many of the people on these boards seem to understand how to properly discuss something, and even if they strongly disagree they can remain civil. And I certainly understand that sometimes tempers flare and people speak emotionally. However, it's when the vast majority of someone's posts become irrational ranting that the person's contributions tend to be more negative than positive.
